It's an indoor rally, with your standard speakers (though perhaps a little more lively and ballsy). About halfway through, the guy MCing it says that they have a special, surprise guest.
"To tone down the boos this guy's gonna get, I'm not going to tell you who he is, but please, be polite and gracious. Come on out, sir!"
Out walks...George W. Bush.
To Lemmy Kilmister growling, over tracks of heavy guitars and drums, "Bow down to the king!*"
Rather than trying to be stupid and affably funny, the impersonator has been instructed to show us Bush's ugly side. The tyrant, the frog-killer, the spoiled wealthy brat. He notes at the beginning how he appreciates the song used*, and dredges up an old line--"This would be a heckuva lot easier if it were dictatorship, just so long as I'm the dictator."
Since it's not poking fun at him but exposing his very real flaws, it's much more than a cheap stunt. I think it would be effective.
*Pro wrestler Triple H is very fond of Motorhead, and is good friends with Lemmy Kilmister, the band's lead singer. They've done the predominant version of the entrance theme he's used for the past five years or more, and provided the music for the "stable" (team of wrestlers) he led for a little over two years. He recently started referring to himself as the King of Kings (as in, he is the most dominant wrestler in the industry; the way his character has been written, it's not far off)...and now, Motorhead has come out with a new song for him called "King of Kings", which features the line, "Bow down to the king!" repeated in the chorus.
It's enjoyable enough for metal. Briefly, I toyed with the idea of a Democratic political savant--assuming such existed--using it as his theme, until I remembered how America was founded. Then the idea for the scenario above, poking fun at someone who apparently thinks he is a king and deserves reverence, came.
I dunno. It seemed cooler in my head.
