White House Insider Admits To Espionage

Intelligence Analyst Passed Secrets During 5 Year Period

(AP) WASHINGTON A former FBI intelligence analyst on Thursday pleaded guilty to charges that he passed classified information to plotters trying to overthrow Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo while working as a military aide to vice presidents Al Gore and Dick Cheney, and later while at the FBI.

The former analyst, Leandro Aragoncillo, did not identify by name the current and former Philippine officials to whom he gave secrets.

He did implicate the former Philippine police official who was arrested with him in September.

Last week, former Philippine President Joseph Estrada denied suggestions by U.S. federal prosecutors that he conspired with the former FBI analyst in an effort to overthrow Arroyo.

Aragoncillo, during a federal court hearing during which he answered 101 questions from a federal prosecutor, outlined five years of efforts passing top secret and secret information.

He pleaded guilty to a four-count indictment returned Thursday morning and disclosed during the hearing.

And isn't this somehow tied to Plame and the AIPAC spy case? I have a feeling this is going to be good.
