US World Cup Soccer Team to NOT DISPLAY AMERICAN FLAG!

Just in. It was noted on CNN that the United States Soccer Team playing in the World Cup Tournament in Germany will not publicly display the Stars and Stripes for fear of an attack on its members.

Perhaps any of us who plan on traveling to Europe (or anywhere) should heed the caution displayed by our Teams and - what? Wear Maple Leaf lapel pins? Canadian flags?

Thanks GW Bush and all you Republicans who have completely and totally pissed off the world so completely that our representatives need fear for their lives by showing they are Americans.

9. I don't recall the USA uniform ever having a flag

except maybe when they had those red shorts back in the early 90's. If they had the flag since, it must have been real inconspicuous.

With Bush having more airtime on German TV (just another 30 minute interview) than on American, the media's reporting is very pro-US, even pro-Bush.

It may be about playing against Iran; I'd pretty much rule out the locals as reason for that move (if there is a move at all - I can't recall the US team overly dispaying the flag.
