It's like deja vu all over again -- Nixon and Bush Watergate 2.0
Edited on Sun May-07-06 08:17 PM by Sydnie
Happened across some interesting "Nixon" era materials today.

These are actually part of the Nixon library exhibit.

--

These say

1) Thou shalt not speak out or disagree with thee administration. If thou does, thou will be placed upon the enemies list...
2) Thou shalt bug thee democrats -- because they have a tendency to disagree with our administration.
3) Thou shalt use illegal entry, kidnapping, wire-tapping, purgery, and prostitution to gain any needed information...
4) Thou shalt implant and organize persons to riot and make it look like the democrats had done it.
5) Thou shalt collect big business and large corporation contributions, (illegally) so I can return to my residential throne.
6) Thou shalt raise money to keep thee Watergate Defendants quiet and have them perjure themselves to protect thee...
7) Thou shalt destroy all Gemstone files, tapes, and any sensitive materials that would be destructive to the Nixon administration.
8) Thou shalt monopolize and control the Justice Department...
9) Thou shalt use any means necessary to cover up Watergate and keep thee American People, Congress, and thee courts from finding out the whole truth about Watergate. (Just ask Martha Mitchell...).
10) Thou shalt "honor thy President and administration regardless of any unethical, criminal, or immoral activities."

A few TOONs from back in the day too --

This is a friendly reminder to the current administration ... the truth ALWAYS comes to light ... sooner or later because ...

We will find the truth ... and you will have to answer to "We, The People"!

1. What saddens me the most...
...is that this latest bunch of crooks make Nixon look like an amateur. His crimes look positively quaint by comparison.

2. Deja vu
The current administration is very reminiscent of the Nixon administration. There are a lot of parallels. People who don't know history are doomed to repeat it.
Bush is an extremely ignorant man. He did not learn/ understand what caused Nixon's downfall.
As for your belief that the truth always comes out, I don't agree. We still don't know the real story behind the JFK assassination and that was over 40 years ago.

3. I hear you on that one
and I hope to live long enough to find out how that one ends, but it will eventually be told. I might not make it, but I will make sure that my kids find out the answer for me.

4. Not only alot of parallels, but
... alot of the same people were cutting their political teeth back then, that are senior officials in this crime syndicate masquerading as a cabinet.

5. are chenny and rumsfeld left overs?
}( i wonder who the behind the scenes players were in 1972? were they connected to the texas group?
will "e-85" and the "flex engine" free us from this type of "corruption of influence in politics"???
it's pretty hard to keep it under wraps now."brazil and dateline" exposed what many of us have
known for years= fossil fuel is for "dinosaurs".
like "moses" the media needs to lead us to the" promised land".
the time is now, don't settle for any less!

7. Those are good too
We need a "how to" book about what was effective then and what would be effective now. Looking back at this stuff is the only way to get there.

:hi: Good to see you Viva!

9. And we will only have 97 chances for those type of threads
all year! Disgusting, isn't it? I'd like a full years salary (if I worked salary that is) and only have to show up 97 times too, wouldn't you?
