10. The only reason why Rumsfeld did not have him removed

is because he knew Ray McGovern knew his facts. He couldn't just shut him up by having him removed from the room. I am glad to see people finally stepping up and "telling it like was"!

The only reason Rummy didn't have Ray beheaded is his extreme narcissistic arrogance. Rummy wanted to show off his witty, verbal rapier and wasn't even remotely thinking about the public relations cost.

14. That would seem backwards to me.

I would think he would much rather challenge someone who is not on the inside. By debating with Mr. McGovern, someone who is well versed on the goings on of the war planning, is like play Russian Roulette with an automatic. But, I did think that if Mr. McGovern was removed, he was well-known enough to maybe conduct his own press conference refuting "The Don's" lies. Most citizens have not gotten that attention once removed from one of his speeches.
