Moussaoui moves to withdraw guilty plea
Al Qaeda conspirator says he lied during sentencing
Monday, May 8, 2006; Posted: 4:16 p.m. EDT (20:16 GMT)

Convicted September 11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui says he lied on the witness stand about being involved in the plot and wants to withdraw his guilty plea because he now believes he can get a fair trial.

In a motion filed Friday but released Monday, Moussaoui said he testified March 27 he was supposed to hijack a fifth plane on September 11, 2001, and fly it into the White House "even though I knew that was a complete fabrication."

A federal court jury spared the 37-year-old Frenchman the death penalty last Wednesday.

On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema gave him six life sentences, to run as two consecutive life terms, in the federal supermax prison at Florence, Colorado.

He is just pissed he didn't get the death penalty. That is probably why he was lying his ass off. He just wanted to get it then say "you lost". But now he knows he is the one that lost. This makes me so happy ;) We won at least one fight.

1. In my eyes you can not put to death someone not convicted of murder.
Yes he is a piece of slime. But he has not been convicted of murder.

2. It's a routine filing
He's gone. He'll never be heard from again.

It's meaningless.

3. martyrdom is what he wanted
My impression is that this man was a fringe player in the whole thing, kept at arm's length or further by other would-be jihadis.

Provoking the court into ordering him executed was his only hope for martyrdom. But it didn't work.

He must be pretty frantic right now, knowing that he's stuck in prison with several decades ahead of him.

Wacko!

Al Queda waterboy wakes up in prison huh?

He must have seen his cell and started using his brain. 10,000 Allahs couldn't keep him sane in solitary confinment for 40 years.

Poor stupid idiot. Poor poor moron.
