I hear that C-Span is pulling the Colbert video

and there's now a separate link to Colbert's speech alone. (Last week, there was only a link to a recording of the whole program.) CSPAN is pressuring YouTube and others to pull it from their sites because CSPAN owns the copyright.

The money's got to come from somewhere. They're a non-profit. C-SPAN started life in one room with a camera and four employees, and now they have decent, though not extravagant offices near the Capitol and some kick ass equipment, the Book TV bus that travels across the country and a staff of 275. They travel extensively to cover political events.
They have to pay the bills, too.
C-SPAN's not perfect, but they're still the best thing on TV.

I think we all should go stream JUST the Colbert part from C-SPAN and send them a message with the number of hits it gets. Perhaps they will begin to offer other things with the crap removed and the cream remaining in the future.
