NOBODY in Japan is talking about bird flu. At all. Nothing on the media at all.

But there is still legitimate potential for this thing to become a threat. I keep tabs on it, and I will make my own preparations. I wouldn't trust THIS Administration to protect us from a speeding truck, much less a pandemic.

Panic is just silly but, as with all potential threats, I think it makes sense to stay informed and prepare.

If it's not H5N1, it'll be another bug. Pandemics DO happen. We just happen to have a particularly dangerous bug floating around at the moment.
