TAMPA, Fla. -- Janet Weaver, executive editor of the Tampa Tribune, was arrested Tuesday and charged with drunken driving.
Weaver, 43, was stopped for speeding near downtown Tampa at about 12:30 a.m., police said. Her blood-alcohol content was measured at 0.085 percent and 0.081 percent, just above the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
Weaver said she was driving home after having dinner out. She said she had two beers with dinner at a Mexican restaurant and another afterward. She said she didn't think she was impaired when she got behind the wheel.

"I told them that the worst part for me was that I feel like I embarrassed them and embarrassed this newsroom, and that's the last thing I wanted to do," Weaver said.
Weaver has been at the Tribune since July 2004, when she was hired to be managing editor and was promoted to executive editor in January 2005.
