Manditory jail time for prostitutes and johns
Arizona lawmakers are cracking down on one of the world's "oldest known professions."

A bill was approved this week that would require mandatory jail sentences for prostitutes and anyone who solicits their services.

The first offense would require15 consecutive days in jail. The second, 30 consecutive days. The third, 60 consecutive days, and the fourth, 180 consecutive days in jail.

The bill is now headed to the Governor's desk.

Residents say they want to clean up the streets.

Consensual acts among adults are none of the state's business.

On edit: If people are concerned about streetwalkers, create brothels. It works in civilized societies.

5. Better solution
Legalize it, control it, do regular health inspections and medical check-ups, weekly, and tax it.

I knew soon as they started handing out mandatory jail sentences for drugs sooner or later they'll do mandatory sentences for many other crimes. If this keeps up, pretty soon a speeding ticket will land you a week in the can.

7. speeding is more dangerous to others than prostitution...
people who speed on the roadways endanger the lives of others- people who got to prostitutes do not.

8. You got it.
What a novel concept. But no instead these brain oxygen starved old fogies never learned the lesson from alcohol prohibition.

Don't allow consensual acts between two like thinking adults, control std's and derive income from the legalized regulation. Instead keep trying to push water back up into the faucet.

What morons. They're the ones who should be jailed.

10. Yes, I believe there are ten counties in NV where prostitution is legal
Interestingly enough though, none of those counties include Las Vegas:shrug:
