Do you think Alito perjured himself about his CAP participation? |
|
Edited on Wed Jan-11-06 10:57 PM by xray s
At first I didn't think too much of the whole CAP thing. But right after Spector agreed to subpoena the CAP docs, Lindsey pulled out the big hammer to try to shut down any more tough questioning, lest there be another run on kleenex in the Senate lounge by Mrs Alito.
I think maybe we have hit close to a big raw nerve.
Now, if the CAP papers show Mr Alito was an active member for an extended period of time, it means he lied to the Senate.
I would think that would be an automatic disqualification. I mean, if perjury means anything anymore.

If he ends up caught in a lie this would be a HUGE black eye for the pukes.

deficit disorder at having fogotten such a significant fact that he thought to place on his WH resume in the mid 80's and has forgotten already. Clearly with that impairment he's not medically qualified to serve on the Supreme Court.

Selective Memory Deficit Disorder, when someone conveniently forgets important facts such as membership in a exclusive racist club, or a pattern of siding with abusers of power at the expense of those who suffer at their hands. :sarcasm:

6. But do you really think pros like this would be so sloppy? |
|
Wouldn't they have thought of this as an issue? Alitos been too well coached and is too think that this was not going to come up. But then again, maybe they are so bold (and so nuts) they figured they could get away with it. Believe me- I would LOVE to see this turn in the scenario you are describing-- I just can't figure it out.

Less you think he's just different than every other person ever to file an application with the White House.

Well, it used to be a couple of five years ago. Today, I guess you might be awarded a freedom medal, or something. Times have been better.

Lying by anyone nominated by Bush or Cheney (the major liars) are automatically elevated above the law. How much lying have we heard from all of them before congress? Condi? Bolton? Gonzalez? I tell ya, once Alito gets in, they can do whatever they want, anytime they want. That's why we have to stop it now.

Spincter ignores the letter for almost a month, claiming he didn't receive it, then suddenly reverses himself and agress to make the documents available - after they've had time to scrub 'em.
These people don't make mistakes like letting something that would torpedo this nomination remain in the files.

Then he lied when he included that on his resume, and he is covering that up by saying he has no recollection regarding it. (Or perhaps some Democrat didn't ask the question exactly right.)
