Here I go, feeling compelled into sticking up for Hillary again
and she's not even my first choice for Democratic candidate.

People are just foaming at the mouth to get after her without knowing the whole story.

We've got threads popping up all over the place with people just chomping at the bit to find any excuse possible to put this lady away. The latest one of course is how Hillary said all this nice stuff about Bush, and everyone is jumping all over her for it like flies on shit without even caring enough to read the article and finding out what prompted her to say such a nice thing about the imbecile.

Right at the top of the article that was posted about her, it says that Hillary was "asked to say one nice thing about President Bush". It just so happens that the reason she was asked that is because she has been saying so many nasty things about him and his administration lately. Thus, she was obviously asked in sarcastic or jocular fashion to say one nice thing about the imbecile. She did what any other politician running for office would've done. She responded in a way that touched on Bush's personality, NOT his competence. What else was she supposed to do? React like one of us here at DU?

For those who think Hillary is in the habit of saying nice things about Bush, think again. She's one of the few Democrats who's had the guts to say that the Bush administration will go down as one of the worst ever, and she said it loud and clear so all Republicans could hear her.

Said Clinton on January 16th, 2006, "We have a culture of corruption, we have cronyism, we have incompetence," she said. "I predict to you that this administration will go down in history as one of the worst that has ever governed our country."

Yeah, she really likes that Bush guy. Gimme a break.

1. She should have made a joke
A clever and experienced politician would have.
Go for the laugh.

She just can't seem to NOT campaign.

2. She knows the game and knew if she answered the question
her response would be the lead in all the next day's newspapers.

She's not stupid. What she did was intentional and she got the headlines she wanted. Doesn't matter if she pissed off Progressives. In her mind she thinks she has a lock on that vote.

She has another think coming.

4. who will they vote for, a Republican?
or perhaps split the Dem vote and go off voting for a certain loser so Republicans can give it to them some more as we "stay the course."

5. History has shown they will not vote at all.
When both party's candidates are going to harm the country, it is unpatriotic to give either any support.

3. What she said didn't bother me.
But she votes for the war in Iraq.

That means I'll never EVER vote for her.

6. "without knowing the whole story"
That's just the point. The average voter nevre bothers to find out the whole story. The average voter votes their emotions, and Hillary has accrued too much ill feeling toward her, probably not deserved. But it hardly matters to the average voter whether the things they feel are deserved or not. If she runs, she will lose because of that.

Is it right? Of course not. But it is reality.

12. But, but, but... she killed Vince Foster and snorted coke off his corpse
Edited on Thu May-11-06 12:49 AM by JeffR
She thinks it takes a village to raise a child. She's a lesbian. Her own husband hates her.

She'd throw people in a Cuban concentration camp, invade a country that did us no harm, knock down the World Trade Centre, roll back civil rights, disregard Congressional powers of advice and consent, wiretap Americans without a warrant, turn her back on the Kyoto Accord...

Oh, wait a minute.

Never mind.
