NSA spying and market research
Look, folks, when the private sector has bought up the government, why should we be surprised when the State does only what the Market has been doing for years? Mining data is a necessary step to control masses of people. How can we scream about phone record surveillance when our spending habits have been carefully assembled and studied for years? And where are the churches on these issues? I can hear people whining, "Oh, but how we spend our money and what we tell the merchants is voluntary!" Hmmm . . . wake up and see that ALL the institutions in our society are necessary for freedom, and all of them are corruptible as well. If we're going to let the almighty "free market" buy our representative government, where the hell is the Church, saying "No! That's not the right thing to do!" ??

A corrupt Church stands idly by and watches a corrupt Market purchase the government.
