Bush: We're not trolling your personal life

Lawmakers demand answers on phone records report

Thursday, May 11, 2006; Posted: 1:12 p.m. EDT (17:12 GMT)

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Congressional Republicans and Democrats demanded answers from the Bush administration Thursday about a government spy agency secretly collecting records of ordinary Americans' phone calls to build a database of every call made within the country.

Facing intense criticism from Congress, President Bush did not confirm the work of the National Security Agency but sought to assure Americans that their privacy is being "fiercely protected."

"We are not mining or trolling through the personal lives of innocent Americans," Bush said before leaving for a commencement address at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Biloxi. (Transcript)

The disclosure could complicate Bush's bid to win confirmation of former NSA director Gen. Michael Hayden as CIA director.

5. It doesn't make any difference *what* they're doing it for,
it's a violation of the Constitution, specifically the 4th amendment.

As if we would believe the lying sack of shit anyway. Listening, NSA? Yeah, I just called shrub a lying sack of shit.

Because he is.

6. For a little prick who, on his first day in office,

18. Hit the perfect nail on the head Old Lefty
This is all so unbelievable yet true. Right away he let us know he is a war president even before there was a war. Absolute control over the people and what info the people "need" to know. Gawd, the arrogance and stupidity. Trashes the Constitution and writes letters to himself (signing statements) declaring that he doesn't need to acknowledge the rules and laws of congress. So far I have to go along with some on this site that Gore may be the only Dem to have the guts to speak truth to power. What has he to lose?? He has been trashed by the repubs to the max and he appears to understand what this bunch is doing and would not allow speech writers, etc. to speak for him if there was another go-around for him.

Bush has Never given an answer as to why he Ignored the PDB in Aug. 2001, where Osama was threatening the U.S. Well, yes, he blames the CIA and FBI by giving them awards. Is no one listening?

24. Thank Congress
Tom DeLay, Karl Rove, Jack Abramoff, and every rightwingnut skank who occupies the R seats in Congress are the ones who have let this happen.

If you can see Jonathan Turley's exposition about this on "Countdown" last night (Turley's a distant colleague of mine - a Constitutional Law professor and a genius on the subject), you'd hear a perfectly brilliant evaulation of why Fuckface has managed to get away with all of this for more than five years.

Not to be missed.

9. His reply is of course BS
However all he talks about are Foreign calls. He NEVER address what the hell the NSA is doing or even hopes to accomplish with this. He doesn't even bother to deny it. I notice he manages to try and blame who ever leaked this suggesting they are helping the terrorists.

Frankly giving this crew I'm willing to be they don't really know why they are doing it.

It's really easy to disseminate any of Bush's statements. Anything he says, it's a lie.

11. Translation: We ARE trolling your personal life.
"their privacy is being "fiercely protected."" = Their privacy is being fiercely invaded.

"We are not mining ... the lives of innocent Americans" = We ARE mining, and everybody's guilty of SOMETHING, anyway!

I hope they also saw me flipping off the fascist bastard and heard me yell "liar liar pants on fire."

I also frequently yell "complicit in 9.11" Make sure you record that in your g.d. database.
