DING DING. WHY the NSA really wants your phone records....
Let's do some adding:

"TWO" (Republicans like to jam phone lines to prevent get-out-the-vote efforts and spread disinformation to voters on Election Day)

PLUS

"TWO" (NSA wants to sort through millions of phone records of people who have nothing to do with terrorism)

EQUALS

"FOUR" (plenty of time to sort the records and cross-reference the numbers with demographics and registered party affiliations in time for one big-ass massive nationwide mother of all mothers Election Day 06 phone jammin' disinformation campaign, all automated courtesy of your tax dollar)

or, of course, posssibly...

"FIVE" (millions and millions of Americans are terrorists)

1. I don't think its about phone jamming. I think its more
of a way to, one, spy on political opponents, and, two, lay the groundwork to start treating liberal activists as potential terrorists who need to be monitored.

8. They're going to cross-reference numbers of democratic opponents
to look for political "cells."

Think about it. These conservatives invented astro-turfing, selective voter registration, property development through litigation, and other dirty tricks. So by cross-referencing who is talking to whom, they can figure out who is supporting the liberal blogs, and if it's resulting in any political activism. They can also clean out any moles in their organizations that might be talking to liberal newspaper people.

Well. It's a good think I'm a recluse. They're going to be bored with my phone calls and they're going to prefer to sink their heads in a bucket of ice water rather than examine my e-bay & other on-line purchases.

3. Information is power.
There's no need to restrict and enumerate the reasons. The fascists are using the records to get around the limits set forth in the Constitution. They're most likely already doing everything DU can dream up, and much more.

4. Here's what I think
Edited on Thu May-11-06 02:42 PM by Beaverhausen
The list of those of us who called voters in other states for hours at a time encouraging them to get out and vote cross matched with the list of donors to democrats equals the next group of folks in gitmo. :scared:

5. I think these pompous, arrogant criminals plan to march forward in an
attempt to control us, control dissent, control protests, make us submissive, make us more than happy to let them keep stealing from us - our rights, their corporate theft, military thefts, intelligence thefts, but most of all our Constitution. They want a slave and serf kingdom.

Think Control - they need control - they need to know how to blackmail - they need to know how to set people up - they need to know how to squeeze, they don't want to depend on getting all their information the slow and expensive way - library records, book purchasing records, law overhauls, planted judges.

Along this line - they will continue to wipe out pensions a la Enron.
They will continue to reverse people progress gained over 100 years.
They will bring us down to below a third world economy and lifestyle at the extreme while trying to keep us a shopping and tv watching society.
They will continue to maneuver a society where we pay taxes, but have to pay for disasters, schools, elderly, homeless problems out of our already taxed pockets, because they are going to continue to confiscate all the tax money through theft and to run their theft campaigns. ($440 billion from DOD is still missing)

Getting rid of George or Dick is not enough - the entire gang that continues to run things originated in the Kennedy assassination and continue to rule, plot, lie, steal, and use us and our children. Their backers are the baron corporations, families, neo-rich, and foundations that have been around for over 100 years.

6. They admire the old USSR model.
All comrades will have their phones tapped so any "Enemies of the State" can be ferreted out of the general population and rehabilitated in re-education camps. Those whose re-education does take, off to the psychiatric ward for them.

I think I'm kidding....
