Ahhh....the Wisdom of Free Republic.
Edited on Thu May-11-06 02:46 PM by sparosnare
I really don't make a habit of contaminating myself by going there, but curiosity got the best of me a few moments ago. I will, for the sake of containment, give a few of the little tidbits I managed to glean about the wiretapping revelation:

1. Bush's TV face time this morning was the brilliance of Tony Snow - he got the president out there fast to counter the lies!

2. The damage has been done - if there's another terrorist attack, the media and their sources must be held accountable for it (because they revealed the 'program').

3. Since American citizens don't own the phone lines and equipment, anything said on them is public, so what's the big deal?

4. If the 'program' had been in place prior to 9/11, calls from Germany and other places could have been intercepted and 9/11 could have been prevented.

Should I go on? Sorry I can't - it's too painful. Take my word for it there's a lot more of this downright crazy stuff over there. I still can't believe people can be this brainwashed. Really sad.

1. Not free republic but by a freeper-type none the less
"The database goes back to the '90s. Hmmm...who was president during the '90s?"

The Clenis made him do it I guess.

5. Well, if Clinton initiated the program, shouldn't they be against it?
Or did he actually do a good job preventing terrorist attacks?

Those chuckle-heads always try to have it both ways. :eyes:

7. If you read the 4th item in my post - they're conflicted, lol.
Can't ever be said their thinking follows any sort of logical path.

2. They have named it the "program"?
Good lord...you gotta wonder if they really believe the dribble they are typing!

As for number 3, I may not own the phone line, but I do own the equipment, I purchased my own phone system.

Of course, I had freepers tell me today that it was not them being tapped! ok, whatever...

4. Those guys could be standing on a stool with electrodes glued
to their arms, a black bag covering their heads, with a US paid mercenary at the switch, and still freepers would say Bush is their savior.

6. Actually - the good news is that a fair amount of them are turning on *
and a fair amount of them are not down with this NSA stuff at all. I've spent the morning there.

It's not good when you have a large chunk of both sides of the isle pissed off at you.

17. The difference is - they are just not going to vote - at all.
They may not be able to pull the lever for a dem - they don't have to. They just have to stay home.

That is going to be Roves concern - he has to get them to vote. He can't do it - and the asshole has other things on his mind right now, in any event.

Joe

I hope this investigation of Fitzgerald goes on for at least a few more months, I really do.

Those would be the conservatives
Freepers by and large are not conservative at all. They are simply radical right wing extremists. Fascists, really. No conservative would approve of shredding the constitution. Ever.

12. 9/11 crap makes me laugh
Bush was warned repeatedly. He refused to even cooperate with the 3 past presidents. I believe that the FBI already had a couple of the hijackers renting an FBI house that was monitered and still Bush did nothing. If you look at www.newamericancentury.org you can see that since the mid to late 90s he and his pals were just waiting for this to happen. I believe he knew and did nothing.
