A new unit of measurement |
|
Edited on Thu May-11-06 08:28 PM by mcscajun
Much as we have Kelvin = SI base unit of temperature, named for Lord Kelvin Newton = SI unit of force, named for Sir Isaac Newton Pascal = SI unit of pressure, named for Blaise Pascal
I now propose, Bush = SI unit of stupidity.
As the stupidity of the namesake is truly staggering, I propose that measures be taken in fractional units.
Fox Wingnut and "Idjit" Hannity might be said to possess .625 Bush Units, for example; Ann Coulter, the self-styled "constiutional lawyer", might have a whopping .793 Bush Units.
DU mathematicians and DU scientists, please weigh in.
With some minor tweaking, I think this could catch on. :)

pico-Bush
like micrograms...
We could post pico-Bush values for RWingnuts and DINOs, like Joe LIEberman
(The "atto-Bush" sounds too much like "attaboy" for me.)

maybe a BSU (Bush Stupidity Unit) could catch on, especially given the added bonus of the juxtaposition of the letters B and S.

9. I have some questions... |
|
So is Bush 1.000?
Can you be dumber than Bush, I mean can you have a 1.092, meaning that this person is .092 stuipider than Bush?
Is there a top, like is the most stupid thing in the world, say a rat, is that a 1.5?
If Bush did something unlikely, like a smart thing, does a BU change? Do others Change as well?
I like this, but I need to know the rules

10. Yes, Bush is the 1.00 measure. |
|
Edited on Thu May-11-06 08:52 PM by mcscajun
And I don't envision this as the top, so yes, there could be a 1.092.
I'm not sure if there is a ceiling yet for this measurement...studies must be done. Perhaps I can get a grant? I could use the cash.
Nah...nothing Bush does can change his basic rating. Perhaps we need a subsidiary unit that can adjust for subtle fluctuations in the force. :)
Hope this helps.

I agree kinda, it almost sounds like specific gravity mesures.
I do think SOME things are over 1.000 but I am thinking maybe only to 1.2, this would be maybe like a brain dead person, or Bill O'Reily....

If b is the ideal limit of stupidity, relative stupidity is the square root of 1 - s^2 / b^2

all others get measure against him.

15. I have a few more questions.. |
|
So if you give Hannity .625, so does that mean he is little smarter than Bush?
So 0.0 is a person that is not dumb at all...
Bush is say 1.000, and a single cell amoeba is say a .938, this would mean that the amoeba is a wee smarter than Bush?
What in your mind is say a 1.2?

17. U4ikLefty has some issues with units in excess of 1.0 |
|
but yes, Hannity's proposed rating of .625 BU posits that Hannity is ever so slightly smarter than Bush.
I'm going back to the drawing board on the 1.092 concept.

I was trying to think of equations just like Einstein's ever since Ioo mentioned changing events possibly changing Bush the namesake's Bush rating -- can't wait for the other engineers to get hold of yours.
One minor quibble -- you need to get the Bush (B or BU) in there. There must be equations where Newtons or Pascals are used for examples?
