March 2008: pity poor little Krystal Parnell..... |

Sweet River, AR - 10-year old Krystal Parnell never knew what she was setting her family up for. The Sweet River preteen was only trying to text message her "American Idol" into the finals. Now her parents face charges that could land Krystal in foster care.
It all started innocently enough, with Parnell texting what she thought was votes for American Idol finalist Travis Bentley last February. Krystal was a digit off, though, and had dialed a mosque in Tacoma, Washington 302 times instead. Phone records monitored by the CIA and NSA bore out the mistake.
CIA director Michael Hayden would not comment on what he called "an ongoing investigation". But attorney general Alberto Gonzales, whose office was privy to the information, gave a couple more clues as to what happened next. "Closer scrutiny of the family proved that her father was calling adult chat lines," Gonzales announced. "This is a clear violation of the American Values Act of 2007." Authorities are now determining whether Krystal should be taken from her own home.
Vice President Ashcroft is backing the NSA. "9/11 changed everything. The war on terror starts at home, and this is NOT a Christian household. What we are doing is protecting our children. Who could be against that?" Democratic leaders had no comment...
