We've all seen CSI, Law & Order, NYPD Blue, etc., right? (NSA issue) |
|
How many episodes did you see where the police had to get a court-issued warrant to obtain phone records?
I don't believe that aspect of our justice system is something exists only in the land of the TV.

1. I don't think anyone is saying |
|
that this isn't a stretch of the Constitution, only that it is a neccesary evil in a time of war.
which is, of course, total and complete bullshit, but that's wingnut thinking for you.

2. Well, the thing that's missing is just like the other NSA program.... |

that this admin could have obtained the info with a court-issued warrant.
They did an end-run around the law....AGAIN!
And no one in the media is raising that particular point on this latest finding.

3. I don't recall anywhere in the Bill of Rights... |
|
... anything along the lines of, "These rights can be set aside when they interefere with necessary actions in a time of war."

5. Besides, you're not technically at war without a formal declaration... |
|
...and doesn't that come from Congress?

6. Ayup. Besides, we're not at war. The US forces in Iraq are a security team |
|
The "War" on terror is just a slogan.

7. no, but there is historical precedent |
|
that can be cited. Of course it's a bullshit arguement, that's the whole point. Fear is a great motivator for people to give up liberty.

8. When Joe Scarborough says there are laws against it, I think I trust him.. |
|
he has nothing to gain by lying about it.
I'll tell you, I completely agree with him about this: WHAT THE HELL IS NANCY PELOSI SMOKING? She knew about this! I tell you what, if I were from her district I would try to get another candidate to run. I can't believe her! What a traitor to our party and our nation's beliefs.
I mean I just can't believe her. If I were her, I would be shouting at the top of my lungs when I was told about this.
You know it is sad when a freaking Republican has more integrity than the Democratic Leader in the House.
She seems like such a good person, I just don't know how she could do this. Hopefully, there is some explanation or something, but I just don't if she can be trusted anymore.
