I don't see how this is true, but I heard it from a member of the school board. They told me over the phone that they are not allowed by law to even ask for the citizenship of any student enrolling in public school. I didn't know whether to laugh or throw-up. The absurdity of our country. My government will look at my phone records and even check my e-mail, but they won't even determine how many kids in the public school system are legal.

Not that I'm suggesting we should start tracking the students' citizenship to kick them out of school, but it seems to me that it would be far more productive to make them check the box, give them the access to primary education, and then track the phone records of their family, instead of tens of thousands of random Americans. (And I'm being kind to the GOP by stating that they selected these Americans at random.)
