If BushCo doesn't sustain a major political blow this week.... |
|
I think I'll need to take a vacation from hoping for it for a couple weeks.
Seriously, the sinking poll numbers, the specter of multiple scandals… That stuff is all great. But damn if this administration doesn’t just keep chugging along, fucking the country and the world. They’re still in the White House, and that is eating away at my very soul.
This Rove tease has got me all wound up in knots. I’m checking LBN, oh, about every five minutes.
So I promise myself that if the indictment— or something of equal or greater magnitude doesn’t come down this week — I will take two weeks away from DU, the blogs, and all other political crack, to refresh my spirit and regain my sanity.
I wonder if I can pull it off?

1. Every 5 minutes? Really? |
|
How can you be so patient?
I agree with you, though. Problem with taking two weeks off is it will take that long to catch up when you return.

Don't go, but don't burn out, either.
Keep this in mind: an indictment of Karl Rove won't mean a thing beyond some celebrating on the part of people who loathe him, and that will be fun. But, after that, we're left in the same mess we're currently in, and, like you, I wonder what the hell has to happen to make these people less Teflon.
I think the Democrats are being silent and passive and letting the White House get away with everything, and, frankly, it makes me believe that the November elections will get stolen again.
But, relax - there's no indictment, and, if there is, you'll see it really fast on TV and everywhere else.
For now, let's pray for a strong Democrat to emerge, with a message that will be equally strong, and there we can begin.

The longer the Rove situation goes on, the better off we are.
I hope it goes on to November, personally.
Two things are true as long as this goes on:
1) Rove has the "Sword of Damacles" hanging over his head - how effective could anyone be?? Even Karl Rove.
2) If Rove is actually charged, the gop might actually put someone in that could concentrate on the November election.
I'd think of it that way.

11. I'd like to share some thoughts: |
|
(humbly): Patience. Look down the road. Not just this week, this month, but a few years down the road, like maybe 5 or 10.
Bush will be gone. There is no doubt about that. So will all his cockroach friends. The White House will be completely sprayed with Raid, and all the vermin will be cleaned out.
There can be no doubt: this has been an unbelievably frustrating time. It's been the 'Period of atonement' that John Hogue talked about. And yes, they're still there and they're still raiding the Treasury and handing out more crony deals to their friends.
I went through a period of rage, almost homicidal anger after Bush slithered up the steps to the White House in 2000. I surfed a wave of anger that didn't let up for another 3 years. Then, gradually, I came to accept this horrible situation. It wasn't easy, my friend!
Hang in there:smoke:

12. Thanks. Though I doubt you've "accepted" the situtation. |
|
But I appreciate the point of your post.
I really think my monumental hatred of these people is taking years of my life.
