How many people are dying right now for a proper economy? |
|
In other words, what are the true jobless figures?
And why are people no longer counted as jobless when the unemployment insurance runs out?

1. Long term unemployed here |
|
approaching 3.5 years. BA, MA, MBA, JD with the most recent earned in 2001. From time to time I am fortunate to pick up a freelance project so I represent new job creation. Yeah right.

3. Obviously you didn't train for the jobs of the future |
|
It's all your fault. I have been existing in a similar manner, with only a few degrees & the most recent earned 25 years ago. Overqualification is a drag in todays job market, isn't it? Especially in an easily off shored specialty! I would have been OK without an unplanned long term illlness, even then if the insurance would have all worked as advertised or even as marketed to me when it was sold.
But now I have a seriously negative attitude.

That degree I earned in 2001 after returning to school mid-life was supposed to build on my career strengths and make me more marketable. I tried to get as much advice as I could before I made that investment of time, effort and money.
I would have been better advised to burn my diplomas, go to vo-tech and prepare to put all my assets at risk in order to start my own little micro-business. Something I am now considering.

2. As a soon-to-be-unemployed medical researcher, |
|
the impact of wasting 200 million dollars a day on a false war has hit home (that I hope to be able to keep). Research dollars are down significantly while we pour money into the war machine. Think about what this country could do with $200,000,000 a day.

has no idea how the other half lives. He makes me want to puke when he makes remarks about caring what happens to the working man.

9. Guessing that I shall be unemployed soon |
|
My S.O. will probably lose his job also when he legally changes his name at the end of June. He's transgender F2M, we work at the same place.
But it works out because the city I live in decided that this area is a "blight", meaning that the low income people like myself should just die or something so that they can build more upscale condos that overlook the ever so lovely Paper Mill.
Do I sound bitter?
