Okay, in my latest issue of The Intelligence Report, a magazine from the Southern Poverty Law Center (they fight hate groups and the like), it said that Free Republic.com was a "patriot" (i.e. "We hate immmigrants!") hate group.

8. "Patriot" hate group sounds pretty accurate.

I knew the place before it got really bad, which I define as when Democrats were "stealing" the Florida vote in the 2000 presidential election. Hey, if those allegations were true, that would've been terrible. And it's not like Clintonites were pure white. It's just that a) during that recount the Democrats were naive lillies while the Republicans were savvy, cunning bullies, b) everything Clinton said, as little as I was inclined to take his word for it, but EVERYTHING Bill Clinton said about how bad the Republicans would be in power, has come to pass, and then some, which greatly increased my respect for him.

So put bluntly Free Republic sold its soul to support Bush and became an echo chamber after that. Before, dissenters were at least tolerated. "Losing" magnified their virtues and "winning" eradicated them completely. Their kind will never share in the spoils, so frankly, the behavior that the Southern Poverty Law Center deems worthy of deeming "hate" is all they really have. If that includes being holier than the President, then so be it, at least until JimRob nukes the thread...
