U.S. produces anti-suicide bombing ad for Iraq
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A simulated suicide bombing will be filmed in downtown Los Angeles this weekend in a campaign by prominent Iraqis who want to dissuade the bombers who have wreaked a devastating toll on their country.

The 60-second edited film, a simulation of a Baghdad marketplace bombing that will kill or injure 200 people, will air on Iraqi TV in six weeks.

Los Angeles-based commercial filmmaker 900 Frames will film and produce the staged suicide bombing, showing viewers the time just before, during and after the explosion, in an effort to capture the impact of the act.

Will it be called " Does my bomb look big in this burque" ?

1. "Well I was gonna go for a little suicide-bombing this weekend but...
...now I've seen that ad, I think I'll just crack a few cold ones and watch reruns of 'Magnum P. I. instead."

'Does my bomb look big...' - absolutely priceless :)

2. How about a film showing Bush leaving office?
That could stop the suicide bombings.

5. If they intend to have 200 fatalities and casualties
then perhaps they just want to show the Iraqis how to do it better. Alterntively maybe they expect future suicide bombers to come out onto the streets of Bagdad shouting " No ! That's not how you do it - you planks "

6. What do the filmmakers expect? Sudden epiphany among the killers? . . .
"Well, damn. . . I never knew this bomb was going to do that! And here I was going to hold it the whole time? Whew! That'd been stupid. Good thing I watched the tube tonight. A killer Will and Grace and a disturbing commercial about a mistake I almost made. And to think, some call this the "boob tube." Why, that commercial was better than an Afternoon Special."

8. I'll wager that the result will be

suicide bombers looking at that ad and saying "Hey, I bet I can do that."
