Pentagon Spied on Concerned Peace Moms in Atlanta
By Matthew Cardinale
January 12, 2006
By Sarah Epting, Staff Writer, Atlanta Progressive News (January 10, 2006)

(APN) ATLANTA--"Don’t they have anything to do? I am just a mom of a teenage son. I just don’t want my son or anyone else go to a stupid war," Susan Keith told Atlanta Progressive News.

Last week, Keith learned the Pentagon has been spying on her protests against public schools participating in military recruitment.

"I think it is a big waste of our money and time to be spying on citizens," Keith said.

She said she doesn’t know why the government would see their protest as a threat, "unless they thought we were going to do some terrorist activity, but we’re the Peace coalition" ...

1. It is important
for people to realize that the NSA spying controversy is only part of a larger, far more wide-spread program. The chances of domestic anti-war activists being spied upon by the NSA is not as great as of being spied upon by numerous other federal, state, and local agencies.

They will start doing protesters in prison terms. I really believe that soon they'll be arresting us in droves probably right after the elections... and I wonder how many in the Dem party wil stand up for us that oppose this war enough to march against it, to assemble against it.

We are not like the rightwing we weant peace they want to convert, incarcerate, kick out or kill. I wish the moderates on both sides of the aisle would freaking recognize that little fact. Their extremists kill and torture our extremists illegally set animals free and burn an SUV every now and then, major difference.

6. Wow. Now there's a dangerous crew. All that peacemaking and stuff.
I sure am glad to see them focusing on the real terrorists.

9. Yes...exactly...spying on anyone that might impact recruitment...
...like programming the RW attack mutt O'sama bin Billy to attack San Francisco when we voted that recruiters should not ply their trade on urban high school (not college, mind you...high school) campuses where they can lie to impoverished city kids (and know better than to recruit on a high school campus in an up-scale surburban high school.)

Seems like a another pattern.
