I've done everything an ordinary citizen can do to prevent the confirmation of Alito, including massive investments of time and money in the campaigns of '04, putting in man hours with REAL pro-choice organizations, signing all relevant petitions, writing and calling my reps on a weekly basis FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS and in general, not being around or working with slimy, ineffectual misogynist dipshits who don't care who they hurt or offend. I'VE MADE THE SACRIFICES. I continue to make them. I've encouraged others to do the same. It's so insulting and disrespectful of you to assume I haven't.
DON'T CALL MY HOUSE. Especially considering that I asked to be taken off your mailing list months ago, and finally was, but only after threatening to contact my attorney if I wasn't removed from said list ASAP.
Yeah, YOU. You know who you are. STOP CALLING PEOPLE YOU KNOW DON'T WANT TO BE CONTACTED. Stop assuming all women are just dumb whores, or useless, helpless breeders who don't know what our civic duties are, don't know how to vote, (I've registered more voters than YOU ever have) aren't intelligent, didn't pursue education and don't even know how not to get pregnant. YOU KNOW YOU'RE OFFENDING PEOPLE and you choose to do it anyway. THIS ISN'T AN EFFECTIVE MEANS OF RAISING AWARENESS about the need to oppose Alito or anything else. IT'S PLAIN, OLD, ORDINARY HARASSMENT and you GODDAMN WELL KNOW IT. It makes me despise your ineffectually, sexist and misogynist assumptions about women and female voters and everything about your group even more than I do already. KNOCK THIS CRAP OFF.
No, I'm not naming the group who actually had some asshole call my home tonight. I just wanted to vent about its overall shittiness, worthlessness, stupidity and lack of respect for the populace. To the volunteers for this group who post here, just FYI, it isn't worth a shot trying to contact me if I've already told you in writing, several times, never to contact me again, ever. EVER. And to the rest of my fellow activists--volunteer work is important. We should all be doing it. But think twice about the people you're choosing to volunteer with before you give your information to them. Some groups (and you DO know who you are) will not hesitate to abuse it, and the trust you placed in them by giving it to them in the first place.
