look at this GOP gas propaganda
http://www.gop.com/GasCalculator/

It might be more effective to convince people than democrats = higher gas prices, if YOUR party wasn't in charge when gas prices, natural gas prices and propane prices DOUBLED oops!

click on the thing to watch a lame video and don't forget to check out the gas calculator to see how much more money you would pay if democrats passed their bill that I have never heard of and that no one has proposed.

1. It's Starting To Take The Gas Hogs Off My Roads
My neighbor has an SUV that sits in the driveway most the time...appears their Honda Civic has become the prime ride these days. That's fine with me...as my biggest fear are people driving those monsters absorbed on their cellphones and paying little attention to the road. The less of these rolling coffins on my roads the better.

The interesting game here, from one who remembers the '73-'74 and '78-'79 gas crisis very, very well...where are the shortages? Anyone seen a gas line, gas rationing? Ya know, the things that would prove that there is a supply problem...that there is a demand that justify higher prices. Nah...that's crossing the line of death.

3. Yeah, this is all BS
driven by commodity speculators.

People in my area must be dumber than your area. If anything, I see more of those God damn things on the road. I don't think anyone drives a car anymore. It's all big ass pickup trucks, Yukons, Hummers, 'Burbans, Escalades, Explorers - and you're damn right it's the NEW Explorer that looks about as big as a Suburban. Just what you need to get around in the rugged terrain of suburban Omaha

7. The Rich Really Are Getting Richer
Dare I admit that hidden away in my portfolio are stocks for several major oil companies and the price increases have sure added to the bottom line. So when I pay more for gas with money from the right pocket, I'm throwing that money into my left pocket. I felt bad about this until I found out several others have been doing the same thing...hedging in a financial world that rewards those who are in the position to invest on the backs of those who can't. If there was ever a need for a windfall profits tax, here it is, but not with two oil cowboys and a beltway full of oily scumbags.

2. Mark my word: this by itself will guarantee the GOP keeps Congress --
that is, if it becomes a major national campaign. Yes, the United States is that hatefully angry over gas prices. And yes, the electorate -- the most ignorant population in the industrial world -- truly is that stupid.

5. you're right
astoundingly, we could lose this issue. Their propaganda wing is doing a masterful job of spinning this considering how little they have to work with.

6. Democrats could put their money where their mouth is...

and push for a bit of tax relief on gasoline themselves. The government is taking in more than twice in taxes than what the oil companies are taking in in profit.

As far as taxes go, that is a little too much. How about a little reassurance that taxes won't be raised on gasoline no matter if the price of gas falls? This would stop this GOP strategy in it's tracks.

8. How do they figure the Kyoto treaty, when )*( refused to sign it?
And at what point did the Democrats increase the federal gas tax, and how could they have done it without Republican cooperation?

The lies on that one page just boggle the mind.

9. Gee I remember republicans screaming bloody murder when gas
got as high as $1.29 a gallon under President Clinton's watch. Clinton has no energy plan, Clinton closed down refineries, Clinton's EPA laws have increased the price of gas, blah blah blah...

Then when George got in they were saying watch the price of gas drop now.. We have a Texas oil man as President... You'd think they would be feeling pretty damn stupid about now, but no, instead they just make more excuses..

we have been making those prices go up and up

10. What is the * energy plan? I thought most of it was still under wraps.
I think a lot of that goes over most people's heads. Kind of hard to blame the Democrats when the oil companies - and Halliburton - are making billions per quarter and they give almost exclusively to the repubs.

14. Hey, if ANY democrat even so much as
proposed a hike in the gas tax at any point in history, that would be enough for these people to use that as a fact.
