We're keeping the stickies for good, right? |
|
I LIKE 'em! And, it's a good way to keep $ flowing into DU, innit?

When things get under control here I will donate and use a sticky to post pix of his new parts or lack of parts or modified parts.
He's a transexual kitty now. I'm the mother of a transual kitty.
I'm so flippin excited about that.

Calcium Oxalate stones, I presume...
Surgery has gotten much more expensive. My recollection ~1980 was less than $1000. Course starting salary for a 1st year teacher was around $11000 then, too.

6. I am the proud owner of a transformed kitty also. |
|
My latest hospital mascot kitty had a perineal urethrostomy three years ago. Unfortunately they left a stone behind to grow big eventually, which is how I got him. He needed $1000 in surgery to remove it and the owner had no money and the animal reg dept was ready to prosecute for abuse/neglect so she signed him over to me. I did the surgery and he is fine now, and a NICE BOY. We love him and he likes his job as official "walmart" greeter.

7. Awwww! I hope kitty is OK! |

I spent about that much on mine once. Urinary problems. But it saved her and she's still here!! Gotta love 'em. They're just like lil kids.
I like the stickies - if they leave them as is, people can donate whenever they're able. Not that they couldn't do that anyway, but the stickies being up there are an amusing and pleasant reminder to support DU when we can. I've really enjoyed them!

Very sad. Very inexcusable too, IMO. But the plutocracy likes it that way.

I rant up a storm here. Nowhere else I can do it, really. I don't always agree with other DUers on all issues (who does?) but it's nice to have a place to come and rant about the crime syndicate that has taken over our country.

|
so we can visit it? And have new stickies added when someone makes a donation during non-fund drive time? There are some very funny, very clever, and very poignant ones on the board!

We've been keeping them up for people who still have credits to spend. We're going to keep the big board permanently, but I doubt the stickies will remain at the top of every page.

Somewhere you don't already have an ad? Heck, I'd buy a new sticky now and then.

21. Well, speaking just for myself.. |
|
...I like them at the top of the pages (can we put them just at the top of certain pages?). They're always changing and it's interesting and amusing to see them every day while they change - besides bringing in $ for DU if you're still allowing $10/sticky.
I guess if they stay up and appendable it gets into data management issues with the older stickies. The Big Board can't grow forever and would have to be archived/culled, or whatever. But they're such fun to watch!! There have been some really good ones!
But -- I don't want to cause extra work or expense either. They're just really fun and they were a great idea!
Oh well. Thanks Skinner!

22. Please find another location for the stickies other than top of screen... |
|
In know that here at DU, with 80,000+ members, we have at least 160,000+ opinions about everything. So, here's mine: The stickies are taking up too much space and make the screen too 'busy'... :(
If you put them on the side - instead of an ad, or in addition to the ads, that would be my strong preference...
Thanks for considering everyone's opinions.
