Research project to track RW investor group - PLEASE HELP TRACK THE $$$$

About Philadelphia Media Holdings LLC

Philadelphia Media Holdings, LLC, a private investment group led by Brian P. Tierney, was formed in 2006 for the purpose of acquiring the Philadelphia Inquirer, Daily News, philly.com and related online assets. The diverse group includes civic, labor and corporate leaders, entrepreneurs and private investors who share a commitment to high-quality, locally-owned journalism.

The only other name we know is Bruce Toll a wealthy builder. We DO know they are heavy Republican activists and Tierney was even a campaign strategist and was a supporter of swift boat liars. This looks like the COVERT way BushInc will be rescuing the GOP in November and for 2008.

He who controls the PERCEPTION of the election before and AFTER, can more easily STEAL the election.

9. Possible McKeel - Richard Scaife connection
I'm just guessing here:
http://archives.cjr.org/year/81/4/scaife_part2.asp

Despite his vast resources, Scaife has not moved into the big leagues of publishing. During the Nixon years, he was urged by at least one high official in the White House to bid for The Washington Star, but he never did. Pittsburgh acquaintances say that several years ago Scaife talked about buying The Philadelphia Inquirer; however, Sam McKeel, president of Philadelphia Newspapers, Inc., the Knight- Ridder group that owns the Inquirer, says Scaife never made any overtures. Last year, Scaife entered into negotiations to buy Harper's magazine, but nothing came of those talks.

14. These people buy newspapers for the GOP agenda. News has NEVER been the
goal for them.

I would bet Tierney and the others are also CNP. Seems most other GOP news owners belong to that group.

10. Tierney-Bush Campaign (2000) link

From the article:
"In dispute over RU-486, Bush working to woo Catholic vote. Republicans mobilizing special Catholic task force"

at

on

<SNIP>
The Bush camp, though, is seeking to capitalize on what some have perceived as a decline in Democratic Party allegiance among U.S. Roman Catholics. After the 1996 election, the Republican National Committee established a special Catholic Task Force headed by Philadelphia advertising executive Brian P. Tierney. Bush's brand of "compassionate conservatism" is aimed, in part, at Roman Catholic voters who, hope GOP strategists, will identify with the party stand on social issues, including abortion.

In 2004, Brian P Tierney of 200 S Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19102, donated $2000 to the Bush-Cheney campaign.

William A. Graham IV owns the Graham Co., which brokers insurance for high-risk businesses and industries.

Leslie A. Brun, chairman and CEO of Sarr Group, LLC, a diversified holding company and former Hamilton Lane Advisors chairman, has more than two decades of investment-banking, commercial-banking and financial-advisory experience.

Brun, a private-equity consultant and international-investment adviser whose firm notched earnings in the billions, had gained such status by 1995 that he was among African-American financial pros written up in Black Enterprise.

Before co-founding Hamilton Lane, Brun was managing director and co-founder of the investment banking group of Fidelity Bank in Philadelphia, VP in the Corporate Finance Division of E.F.Hutton & Co. in New York, and VP of Lloyds International Corporation, according to a biographical sketch on the Internet.

Katherine Crothall has been a successful entrepreneur for 25 years, most recently as the founder, president and CEO of Animus Corp., of Frazer, Chester County. Animus makes insulin-infusion pumps for diabetics.

Animus was recently bought by Johnson & Johnson for $518 million. She was elected this month to the board of Othera Pharmaceuticals Inc

I think this whole news business coup in Pennsylvania is the huge step they needed to make it a GOP stronghold - and they will use the heavy Catholic population to pull it off through manipulating and controlling most of the state's news.

Michael J. Hagan, in his 40s, helped turn around the flagging NutriSystems of Horsham, a provider of weight-loss products and services, of which he became CEO in 2002.

Before joining NutriSystems, Hagan co-founded Verticalnet, Inc., a business-to-business Internet and software company, and held other executive positions - including chairman of the board - with that company since it was founded in 1995. VerticalNet was among the earliest business-to-business e-commerce companies to deal with the needs of industrial firms.
Hagan is a trustee of Saint Joseph's University and American Financial Realty Trust.

Patricia Harron Imbesi, principal of Patriarch Media, comes from a family of pioneers in cable television.

Imbesi's father, Paul F. Harron, Sr. started in the media business by selling ads on vaudeville curtains, and later owned and operated broadcast radio and television outlets, according to a company Web page. Harron Communications, which then had 300,000 subscribers, was sold in 1999 to Adelphia Communications, but remained involved in cable TV in New England.

Graeme is Katherne's husband and was a 25% owner in Animas.

He's also the owner of a multi-million dollar janitorial company that is basically moving people all over the country out of their union jobs. This blog seems to indicate that the Knoxville mayor is looking at contracting out the entire county.

Alcoas Tennessee Rigid Packaging Division plans to contract out its janitorial work, saving the company $1.8 million a year.
Graeme Crothall Services Group (GCA) of Philadelphia will handle the work.

Also Bush donors.

And, William Graham IV

He was a director at Animas too.

Edited on Wed May-24-06 12:45 PM by KoKo01
Here's what came up. It looks like Bruce Toll gives to Repugs and his brother Robert gives to Democrats. DU won't allow Tables to format so this is very hard to read. It's easier to go to the links at Open Secrets that I gave at the end and view the page there.

You can do a further search on Open Secrets for all states on Toll Brothers using their search engine.

23. Actually, blm, Open Secrets might give you lots of info as to what you
are seeking. Their Search allows for many inputs and if you have narrowed down things to an "organization name" or some one donor that you want to search it's a very good site that will save you some time...connecting dots before you go "TARGET" on Google.

I wish I could help you more on this..but find it fascinating that one Toll Brother is a Repug Donor and the other a Dem.

I lived in a "Toll Brothers House" once in my life. It must have been built by the Dem Brother because they fixed everything wrong with the house even though it was two years old and past the time when any "orginal builder" would have honored their warranty.
