Bush to President Vincente Fox "don't talk to the media"
Vincente Fox is in Salt Lake City for two days. He was to speak to the media. But two days before the visit, the media was told that the plans have changed. The Mexican government was told by the Bush Administration that "you are a guest in our country and you will not give any media interviews".

As of now I don't think he has had any interviews.

1. Do you have a link?
A lot of people just aren't taking things at face value these days.

4. Nope, no link
I can't say much more.
But I want everyone to keep a look out to see if this is true.
He is going to more states.

5. Keep an eye out for us, then, would you?
And then post again when you're able to say much more.

Thanks.

Fox will take no questions from reporters during visit
The Salt Lake Tribune

While Mexican President Vicente Fox is in Utah today and Wednesday the news media has been told Fox will not answer any questions. News releases from the Office of Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. and the Mexican Consulate in Salt Lake City on Monday also said the only news conference that had been scheduled during Fox's visit was "canceled due to scheduling changes." A spokeswoman for Huntsman also said the governor wasn't planning on having a news conference about his meeting with Fox on Wednesday morning. This isn't the first time a news conference with the two political leaders has been canceled. When Huntsman visited Fox in July 2005 in Mexico City, a scheduled news conference was canceled at the last minute. - Jennifer W. Sanchez

Got a question for Fox? Don't ask
Mexican chief won't take queries from Utah media

By Lisa Riley Roche and Deborah Bulkeley
Deseret Morning News

No questions. No questions. No questions. No questions. No questions. No questions. That's the official policy for Mexican President Vicente Fox's 24-hour visit to Utah that begins today.

According to the latest version of the Mexican leader's schedule, released Monday by Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr.'s office, Fox won't be saying anything here beyond his scripted speeches to various groups, including the Utah Legislature.
The schedule spells out that there are to be "no questions" at each of the six events Fox will attend and includes a note stating that a previously announced news conference "has been canceled due to scheduling changes."

(snip)

The visit, Jowers said, "still gives him a great platform to say the right things." What it doesn't do is "give him a chance to make a statement that would anger the Bush administration or even make it uncomfortable for Governor Huntsman."
