Anyone in Florida hear of Bright Futures?
I think that's what it's called. My friend moved there a couple of years ago and she told me they have this program for college for Florida residents that if you get straight A's in high school, you get free college at the school of your choice in Florida. Anyone know if this is true? Thanks

3. Not quite the 'college of your choice'
there are schools that participate and schools that don't.

Another great note: if you get all a 3.0 GPA, you qualify for 75% off of your tuition. So you don't have to be a perfect student to get help for college.

7. Doesn't guarantee admission (or even help with admission)
I think that Texas has a plan that guarantees admission to a state school but Florida doesn't have that feature -- you still have to apply and get admitted on your merits like any other prospect.

Once admitted then Bright Futures pays for either 75% or 100% of tuition and fees depending on a combination of the high school GPA and the SAT or ACT score. My kids are in this program. There is also a third level that pays for vocational studies.
