1. I guess no one is watching because, if you were, you would be amazed

at the pomp and circumstance for this speech.

Before I go off on a rant, can anyone tell me which foreign PM's and Presidents have addressed Joint Sessions of COngress recently or during the Bush and Clinton administrations?

I have no alliances with Palestinians. I have alliances with people from all over the world.

I want to ask someone to tell me that I should not be upset with the deference paid Israel. I would have no problem and no complaint if they didn't maintain a state of war with Palestine and Iran and did maintain a state of peace in the Middle East. I would have no complaint if they would allow Palestinians to have a life without both of them killing each other and keeping us in a state of horror. All my life I supported the right of Israel to exist. I also believe Palestinians have a right to exist. And now, as it turns out, I want Iranians to exist.

But, we are getting nowhere with the constant war. The only ones making it are the corporations who feed on war, their stockholders, the press that supports them, the spies, the associated industries, and the congresspeople who get paid off.

If the U.S. and Israel are so superior, why don't they make peace?

They want one commercial world with war.

I want one brotherhood world without war and hunger and with education and opportunities so that they can realize their birthright to creativity and longevity.

2. Didn't Blair address a joint session? I can't figure out why he is
doing it. What is up? I heard that he wants to continue with his wall or whatever, but what does that have to do with our Congress. That is what I am waiting to hear.

4. Not watching from here
You've pretty well nailed it how I feel about the issue. I generally just try to stay out of any I/P discussions. Within a few minutes, I'll be accused of being anti-Semitic or some other outrageous charge along those lines. Getting into a discussion with a staunch Conservative is futile as the "killing innocent children and old ladies sipping tea in a restaurant" is a certainty.

It just seems to me that the attitude of all things Israel are good, just, honorable, and correct is misguided. It only gives Isreal an excuse to do anything in the name of 'defending their right to exist' and to protect themselves. At some point, Israel has to stop hiding behind our skirt and stand on its own. They've gone from the orphaned child needing assistance and support, to a cocky jock teenager who's confident he'll get away with anything because Mom and Dad will be there to bail him out no matter what. It's time they behave like an adult.

5. OK. I pause ... his words are shaped in an acceptable and honorable
way. If words alone work, but I've heard words like this before. Are these words that will work?

8. OK, now, all the good words about peace with Palestinians have concluded

and words have started framing Iran as a world threat. Is this shaping up to be a pro-nouncement for an attack on Iran? Is this why he came here? Last negotiations between the U.S. and Israel before attacking Iran? Why do I even have to doubt purposes? Why can't I trust the leadership of the U.S. and Israel?

Two of the biggest terrorist nations denounce terrorism.

10. I can't believe the duplicity. For years we've said that Palestine is the
key to peace in the Middle East. Now it's Iran - and the PM's message was very clear. - Israel and the U.S. are going to invade Iran. Please convince me otherwise.

I just can't take anymore of this. There are people on this earth who are inhuman. After all the death. They want more.

11. I wish I could reassure you, but I think that is what they are going
to do as well. Why? I am not sure except I think it has to do with that oil pipeline. One of the points he made in his speech was development of alt. energy which seemed kind of strange unless he is trying to set up a denial in the future about that pipeline. I don't know, but it seems like a bad Freddie movie, watching the same plot unfold and the same stupid reactions the characters (us the people) are having in each sequel.

3. I started to post about this earlier and was just left speechless
by the orgy of bombastic tough guy language and mutual kissing up that is occurring. This guy is scary in the same way all those who are certain that they are divinely entitled are. He is a more urbane version of our own personal messianic nutcase.
