Three big ideas . . .
Moveon.org is organizing dinner parties to promote discussion of “three big ideas” for the Democratic party to run on. Here in the DFW area there are 6 scheduled and 5 are fully booked!

My “big idea” is energy independence in ten years. I remember as a kid listening to a speech in 1961. “I believe we must put a man on the moon and bring him safely back before the end of the decade . . . not because it is easy but because it is hard . . .”

Not only would an Apollo Energy Project bring us independence from Middle Eastern Oil, it would re-start the engine of creative engineering and design that would spawn a completely new wave of industry inside the borders of our country.

The great benefit of Kennedy’s Apollo project wasn’t a few moon rocks; it was all the technology that was developed to do something that was never done before. It created the computer industry and all that went with it. An Apollo Energy Project would do the same, not because it is easy but because it is hard.

Anybody else have a “big idea”?

1. Kerry drafted that about 5yrs ago - it was a key issue in the campaign
It was another key issue that the corporate media chose to ignore as a topic.

2. Here are two:
1. Deal with electronic voting machines problems and demand paper ballots that stay in each precinct

2. Wake up to the reality of today's corporate-controlled media and respond accordingly

3. Everything else --

Seriously, NOTHING should take priority over these two extremely important issues. If we don't deal with them, we're wasting our time.

3. Try this
Public financing of elections.
The end of Corporate "Person hood".
Those will fix the root causes of our problems then you can move on with the social and political ie energy Independence, universal (health care education full employment at a living wage). We have to expose the FASCISM to stop it.
