ABC News says OBL has been sighted

http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2006/05/bin_laden_on_th.html

I would not hold my breath waiting for GWB to send in the Marines. Capturing Osama bin Laden would be problematic for Bush.

First off, I don't think he'd do it without permission from the Saudis and/or the bin Laden family, which would be hard to get. I just can't see Bush, being who he is, acting without their consent.

Also, capturing OBL would do two things bad for Bush:
1) It would deny the administration of an enemy to point to when it wants to scare the public and/or Congress.

2) Any trial of OBL would being up nasty issues about Bush's family ties to the bin Ladens and OBL's history as a CIA "asset" in the 1980s under Reagan and Bush Sr.

Beyond that, there's the whole "martyrdom" thing. There is a possibility that the Middle East would explode, that the Saudi royals would lose control of their shaky kingdom, and that an intense wave of terrorism would hit the West

9. I have a theory--no tin foil necessary....really
I believe that OBL has been in the UAE receiving medical care. I think that the BFEE has made a deal with the UAE to keep OBL's body on ice when he dies and to turn it over to the US when they request it--say around election time.

7. Freeper logic, blame the liberals (Democrats)...
They haven't caught OBL, because the liberals (Democrats) won't let them, see? The Democrats have so much power right now, they are tieing the hands of Bush and the Republicans to do anything about it, see? You do see that, don't you????

"If the liberals (ie. Democrats) would let us fight this war on terror, perhaps we would have had him by now. We have to start here in the U.S. by getting those idiots out of government so we can get this mess over with!" :silly: :wtf: :argh: :dunce: :freak: :hurts:

I thought I saw UBL and Elvis, splitting a chili-burger at Sonic the
other day. When I got turned back around and went back, they were gone. All I found was a video tape smeared with peanut butter and mayonnaise. The only things on the tape were two or three episodes of the old Captain Kangaroo Show and parts of a Bollywood musical...
