Fox News calls Ohio gov. race "a bit of a nail-biter" contrary to polls
This sounds fishy, is Blackwell ramping up the corrupt voting machines?

Fox News Live's Jarrett called Ohio governor's race "now a bit of a nail-biter" -- but latest polls show Democrat far ahead

Introducing an interview with Democratic Ohio gubernatorial candidate Ted Strickland on the May 23 edition of Fox News' Fox News Live, host Gregg Jarrett claimed that unnamed "xperts say is yet again shaping up to be a key battleground state" and the race for governor of Ohio is "now a bit of a nail-biter." As Jarrett spoke, the on-screen text read, "Gubernatorial Race in OH Going To Be Close in Nov"; this text appeared throughout much of the segment. At the end of the interview, Jarrett called the race a "close case in an important state." But polling data tell a different story.

The most recent state polling puts Strickland far ahead of his opponent, Republican J. Kenneth Blackwell. A May 8 Rasmussen Reports poll gave Strickland a 16-point lead over Blackwell, 52 percent to 36 percent. So far, Rasmussen's polling for this year has shown Strickland's lead steadily increasing, up from 4 points in January (44 percent versus 40 percent). Rasmussen's three-month average (March, April, and May) also has Strickland ahead of Blackwell 51 to 37 percent.

In addition, an April 24-26 Mason-Dixon Polling and Research Inc. poll conducted for the Cleveland Plain Dealer put Strickland 10 points ahead of Blackwell, 47 to 37 percent.

10. ? Seems if they are fixing it, it doesn't matter what the margin is.
I don't get it. There is no way to check that what went in the front came out the back. How does margin figure in?

22. That's the old conventional wisdom
But remember that referendum proposition in Ohio a few months ago. Polls said it was ahead by 2-1; "official" results: it lost by 2-1. Hardly a peep from anyone afterward. So now, no polling margin is too big to Diebold.

3. Forget the polls. If Blackwell still has the machines on his side, he's in
Who knows what will happen behind the closed doors of the source code and the internal programming, and I always hope, but the polls will have nothing to do with it. If it's a fair election, Strickland will run away with it.

But it won't be a fair election. Just depends on how high they've got the machines tuned, and how much resistance there is that might prevent the fix from happening.

5. its not the machines at work, its Blackwell himself
Edited on Wed May-24-06 03:18 PM by LSK
He can practically say who gets to vote and who doesnt. Hes basically allowed to dismiss large #s of votes against himself. He gets to give heavy Dem precincts 1 voting booth and heavy GOP precincts a ton of booths. He gets to shread up thousands of provisional ballots while at the same time forcing "questionable" voters to having to use provisional ballots.

This guy shouldnt be running for Governor, he should be in jail right now.

I dont know that diebold is used very much in Ohio.

8. Nope
They're just biting their nails because someone might win who could start cleaning up some of Murdoch's buddies in Ohio.
Can't believe Gregg Jarrett sold out to Fox...kind of wish he'd been caught by that tornado in Wichita.

14. This is why the Dems must discuss ELECTION FRAUD! There will be 4
candidates in the race: the Greens turned in 11,000 signatures and the Libertarians turned in 14,000 (needed 5,000). Blackwell has until 7/15 to certify and signatures I'm sure he will take his time.

This is how they cover for the Big Cheat..

They start months ahead, "reporting" about how the race is :

1. heating up
2. closing the gap
3. 50-50
4. too close to call
5. a nail-biter
6. spirited
7. neck and neck
8. within the margin of error
9. etc
10. etc

so when the actual election occurs, and there are no exit polls to dispute the results.. the press will just say.. "see we told you it was close"..now move on, get over it, nothing to see here..

18. If you saw NOW a couple of weeks ago...
The Kristian Kooks are backing that meatball bigtime. They're having meetings all over the state, more or less in secret, where he appears and gets some huge award (they give him the same one over and over) and delivers a rousing Jezuz speech and so on. Never mind that this is a charity and isn't allowed to endorse candidates...

The polls might show too big a lead for the dem. These zombies will vote in lockstep and the Krazy Kristians are pouring money into the state.
