1. Gore/Clark, Gore/Edwards, Gore/Feingold
Those tickets all look good to me. But we've GOT to convince President Gore to run again first ...

Personally I think he will make an run at once again.....Because of what happened in 2000 and watching what happened in 2004... More experience should make a difference in his campaign if he choses to run.....

Because of the shitbox in Iraq and Afghanistan.. I am very surprised that Wes Clark hasn't screaming from the mountaintops about how messed up things are in Iraq.

16. Oh, but he has......
This week-end--
"Ticking off a laundry list of the actions America has taken since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, specifically the search for chemical, biological and nuclear weapons 'with which the invasion was justified,' Clark said, 'we found no weapons of mass destruction...the incidents of terrorism around the world have increased year by year...and the good name of the U.S. has been blemished by the invasion.'

"The crowd of at least 2,000 gave Clark a standing ovation at the school's 119th commencement excercises, as well as uproarious applause when he asserted that when it comes to defending the nation we should 'use force only, only, only as a last resort.'"

Wesley Clark speaks at RPI
Updated: 5/20/2006 10:30 AM
By: Capital News 9 Web Staff

General Wesley Clark is receiving an award from RPI. The former Supreme Allied Commander of NATO got the honorary degree from the prestigious college.

But while here, the retired-four-star general gave his opinions on the War in Iraq and the Bush Administration.

He sat down with our Brian Taffe on Capital Tonight.

Clark made it clear that he thinks the President had an agenda to attack Iraq.

He even referred to the September 11th attacks as a convenient excuse for the attack.

"Ten days after 9/11 they told me, the generals told me, the decision has been made, we are going to invade Iraq,” Clark said. “Of course it wasn't a public decision. Of course President Bush wouldn't admit that was the decision that was made, but that was the decision that was made."

General Clark was also the first of eight retired generals who have called for the resignation of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.

Clark also gave the commencement speech at RPI's graduation ceremony today.

8. Let's take back congress in 06 first,
I just read a statement by Gen.Clark and he's stressing the point for us to concentrate on 06 and i agree with him.

I understand we all want to look ahead to a country without Bu$h, but we must stay focused on the prize. And take both houses in 06, just think about how good that would make us feel.

Peace!

I'm glad Gore's film is getting a lot of press (and hopefully will continue to do so) because it gives Democratic Congressional candidates a perfect opening to discuss OUR embrace of science versus the Thugs' ignorance of it (re global warming, alternative fuels, stem cell research, etc.). No need for him to get out on the stump for any of them (he's already "phoning it in"), but hopefully the rest of our '08 bench will be out there focused on '06 first.

9. at this point in 1990, how many people had even heard of Bill Clinton?
it's WAAAY too early to be thinking about a 2008 ticket- we should be concentrating on getting back the house/senate in 2006- at this point that is VASTLY more important than contemplating who might decide to run in 2008.

General Wesley Clark visiting Kosovo

Former NATO commander General Wesley Clark has arrived today in Kosovo for a three day visit. He was invited to visit Kosovo by the PM Agim Çeku. He will be meeting all the leaders of the country as well as members of the status Negotiation Group. RTK reports that Gen. Clark will also address the Kosovo Parliament. According to his itinerary, he will pay homage to the graves of Adem Jashari and Former President Ibrahim Rugova.

15. Clark / Richardson would be hard to beat even though I don't care for
Richardson. Putting a Hispanic on the ticket would help us win New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and a number of tight races in other states.

If not Richardson I would say Clark/Edwards.

18. Gore would be our strongest candidate
Warner would be formidable because he is a moderate from a southern state with 15 electoral votes that we could probably carry. Clark would also be a good choice. Feingold would probably have a hard time winning the general election.

20. A year and a half out of the 2004 Iowa caucus, a lot of people felt that
Dick Gephardt was the frontrunner.

He was decidedly pro-labor, tall, well-liked, dutiful, a previous winner there, a guy with long service in the Congress, and a neighbor to the state.

He was buried alive with just 11% of the vote.

I like the multi-tasking speculation politics for 08 alongside our energy for 06, but frontrunners just haven't distinguished themselves yet.
