Anyone have a Jimmy Hoffa update? Last I heard is the FBI was tearing
down a barn. Are there any DUers monitoring the situation?

2. Well...I'm pretty sure he's dead
Other than that I neither know nor care. Why are they thinking his remains will be found? Where the hell is Bin Laden? Catch him first, worry about Hoffa's bones later.

23. He'd be 93 if he were still alive.
Why is this a big issue 31 years after he was reported missing?

4. It's all taking place not far from me (about a half hour away)
It's all over the local news every night. They are in the process of tearing down a barn and may have to pull up the foundations.

14. Maybe the FBI should dig up Giant's stadium to find out? Wouldn't that
be a hoot?

6. Apparently the Anthrax that was used to kill Hoffa came from
Edited on Wed May-24-06 03:30 PM by IChing
the very same envelope sent to Tom Daschle right after 911
which was financed by the same people who placed the stock options on the American Airlines
stock right before the twin towers came down and made a fortune.

8. Oh shit! Hoffa's buried in my Spam mailbox!! I need to call a lawyer!
Oh this is gonna look really bad if I can't arrange an alibi? Who the hell would want to frame me by hiding Jimmy Hoffa in my email account? Why o why don't I check and clear out my bulk mail folder more often! Stupid stupid me!!

10. No Hoffa. Would you like to read what the FBI based its search on?
I was curious too. I may have found it at The Smoking Gun, Ghods bless them! It appears to be based (at least in part) on a kooky afadavit from 1994. Check it out below. I remember when the FBI was used to track down crooks, not make a splash to distract The People from The Great Crime.

Shaking his head slowly,

PB

15. Ionia is a long way from Milford
Milford is about 45 minutes northwest of Detroit. Ionia is just outside Grand Rapids, about 100 miles away.

I think Jimmy is alive on a tropical island, hanging out with Jim Morrison and Elvis. Natalie Hollaway is their sex slave.

11. I have to admit I always liked Hoffa.
I know he was corrupt, but there was something about theway he spoke to power , I admired. Him and RFK literally hated each other. Makes ya wonder.

17. He wasn't just corrupt. He was a thug also. But I am not sure he ever
actually had anyond killed although he probably had some people roughed up. He was a little too ready to do business with the mobsters which was also probably his downfall. They had Fitzimmons so they no longer needed Hoffa and he was threatening to get in the way.

Shall we send them in search of any other guys who have been dead for a hundred years?

19. Here is a link to a Detroit News story from yesterday.
http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060523/METRO/605230390/1003

A small excerpt:

While it is the federal government spending the money, officials concede that federal criminal charges in the case are unlikely, and if there are any charges at all, they would most likely come from the Oakland County prosecutor.

The search and recent investigative efforts will cost a "minimum of six figures" and will likely top $250,000, several federal officials told The Detroit News. One official said the total could climb to $500,000.
