I'll say this much about Bork--he didn't weazle around his beliefs |
|
Thank Goodness he was never confirmed, but at his confirmation hearings he did stand up for what he believed and it helped defeat him. He had this to say about Alito:
Wolf: How did he (alito) handle himself?
Bork: "Very well. He's walking away from alot of things..."
Wolf: Including you--right.
Bork: Yes...The object nowadays is to get confirmed. People will say pretty much--or avoid saying pretty much in order to get confirmed.

False pretenses and dishonesty is now the way. They have learned well from the Bork experience. The darkness is coming through a disguise of the false light of attacking those who ask for their judicial temperment.

2. The process of prepping the nominee |

to avoid any risk of truthfully revealing honest positions was less perfected at the time. Don't forget, they've had 18 more years to get it just right. Stonewalling as a dark art. SG
