:(

War didn't kill my daddy, but it broke him. I hate to think of how many people are coming home broken now.

1. When we lived
in our last house nearly 20 years ago, a strange guy used to walk the street, mumbling to himself. He lived with his parents. I found out he was the same age I was and he had returned from Vietnam in that state. He suddenly died at age 37. A few months later I was working in my garage and his Dad came over and cried his eyes out.

What could I say to this man? His Son went to war and it destroyed him. I worked in the Apollo space program instead and went to college.

I found out a couple of days ago that more Vietnam Vets have died from alcohol, drugs or suicide than died in Vietnam.

I'd like to hope that things have improved.

3. They haven't.
the VA is still so underfunded that only a few get the PTSD counseling the majority will need.

Modern war destroys everybody in it, the military, the civilians, everybody. If you get out with your body intact, your mind won't be.

We need to make sure that only defensive wars are fought from now on. There will always be stupid men who see glory in war, let them be hired mercenaries for multinational corporations and let those corporations pay for the privilege instead of welching on taxes while you and I foot the bill.

I am sick of having our military misused. I am sick of having our country's children destroyd to protect corporate thievery.

4. AMEN.
"We need to make sure that only defensive wars are fought from now on."

We should have enough respect and love for our troops as a country, to withhold them from action from anything other than a last resort.

2. The only way there would be any justice for what bush
has done is to put him in one of the units in the Iraqi triangle along with Rummy, and Cheney, oh hell, all the WHIG's and have them drive one of those fun Hummers down just any old street. That way they could get the real feel of war. Like pure fear that at any moment you could be blown sky high, and that your fellow soldiers are bing shot at while trying to rescuse their sorry asses. Blood in the streets every day in Iraq is so common if you read the daily attack news. Two, 3 and 4 tours is insane! This war is insane

I'd like to say bless all those that have been there and are there but blessing don't seem to be doing anybody over there much good. Thank goodness Murtha is still trying to cover the truth over there by speaking every chance he gets.

Memorial weekend rant
