12. I would have edited these posts to "warn" DUers they can "appear"
here (explanation in reply #8) due to "context" ("history" of sites visits).

On a lighter note, I ain't seen any LOVE "related" ads (yet).

2. Ashamed? Because some bozo pays to say something you don't agree with?
I happen to like the First Amendment, and I like this website. If they can make dough off these bozos, more power.

If people who post here are going to be "influenced" by something they have to click on to read, with a goal of separating them from those bits of green paper in their wallets, well, they aren't possessed of strong intellectual curiousity or character to begin with.

BTW, I didn't click on the links you provided. Fortitude, ya see.

7. I see them at the top of the page. Right now I see
Dr. Fred Weiner True, OB/GYN medical expert, Lawsuit Protection for DR, and Democrat for Governor. The latter apparently is for CA.

They're quite easy to ignore, if that's a goal. Not very intrusive.

8. GoogleAds is contextual.
GoogleAds seaches the site and determines its content and subject material. Then it pulls adds from a list it has related to that subject and posts them. That's the way it works. Sometimes the ads it runs are contrary to the opinion of the website, and in time, those will filter themselves out (because no one will ever click on them). I believe that a site can restrict certain ads from listing at all, but I am not sure. . . I actually just set up GoogleAds on my site last week, so I am still tinkering with it myself.

10. Thank you for this explanation. My "average" donation will be in...
the mailbox tomorrow morning as planned a week ago. I will not "click" on any (shameful) ads with the word "Iraq" anywhere near them (just the DU posts). Now I am feeling ashamed I can't make my donation as big as for DU not to "need" these (two I saw on top of the page, so far) ads.

Sorry for not knowing (not to click on them).

Thanks.
