I can't imagine anyone (besides brainwashed fundies) going to places like this voluntarily.

He does allow minorities there (at least if they can play ball).

1. I'm scratching it off my "party schools" list as we speak. n/t
If the kids didn't have basketball they'd probably be burning witches or something.

11. They only have teams that bring in money.
College swimming doesn't do that.

5. It actually isn't that horrible
I have seen rules, especially at "Bible colleges", that were much worse. I probably would have unintentionally mostly complied with these rules my freshman year in college, without perhaps the exception of a couple cds of unacceptable music.
If students really want to go to school with like minded people free of the distractions of "partying" and such, it might be the place for them. Unfortunately, many of them who go there do so to be somehow safe from the world and to be told what to do, which I think is the wrong attitude.

6. A religious friend of mine went to Baptist Bible College
In Springfield, Missouri, which is where Falwell graduated from. They had a lot of crazy rules too like the dress code of course. You have to sign something that says you won't listen to certain radio stations or certain types of music (which my friend promptly ignored since he's an amateur musician who built a small recording studio in his campus apartment), go to certain movies (which my friend ignored since he's a movie buff), and men can't have facial hair (which my friend got around by going to our small hometown doctor, the only Jewish guy in town who was happy to lie to Baptists by writing my friend a note that said he had a skin condition that was exacerbated by regular shaving). I think BBC keeps nearby Silver Dollar City in business as that's pretty much the only place those students can go without breaking the behavior codes they sign.

I visited him and attended classes wearing sneakers and a Superman t-shirt. Got a lot of stares.

12. Falwell has made disparaging remarks about Catholics,
if I'm not mistaken.

9. Wow, so someone can rape another student and may not face expulsion:
http://www.liberty.edu/studentaffairs/index.cfm?PID=1405

Violations of the sexual assault policy will result in a minimum of two (2) semesters away from Liberty University or possible permanent expulsion.

Expulsion is possible but not guaranteed?! :wtf:
