Serious question for all..... |
|
Edited on Wed May-31-06 09:15 PM by peanutbrittle
Hypothetically, after the Republicans lose control of Congress, Shrub is removed or retires from the Presidency , a newly elected Democratic President is installed and the terrorists are still a force to be dealt with. Global peace and harmony are the dream and goal of civilized nations throughout the world.
What will be the answer to achieving that goal by that time and how to further that agenda?
How to contain or end terrorism and wars?
Personally I believe there are many who believe the ONLY answer is one world government and, which will never happen in our lifetime but the push to get there by the bi-partisan political and religious entities both nationally and internationally will always be there and will always be progressing in that direction despite the resistance which will serve to both slow the process down and feed the problem of perpetual war.
As far as the terrorists go. Can a peace pact be made with them through diplomacy or is perpetual militarism the only answer.
Will the Anti- Christ arrive soon to make this peace pact? LOL
Is there hope? Or are we just doomed
Just some thoughts?

1. Find or develop an alternate energy technology and get the hell |

out of their countries. Stop trying to own the planet. Russia would be happier, China would be happier, as well as a few dozen other nations who don't want, don't need foreign military bases on their sovereign property.

3. "Terrorists" are not a football team. It's a method of action, used by |
|
people who don't have the power, either militarily, politically, or economically, to have a voice or accomplish their ends.
It cannot be abolished, conquered, or eliminated through military means. So long as the ability for someone to put together a bomb in their kitchen or basement exists, the potential for terrorism will always be there.
As long as there are people with grievances, legitimate or not, who fall into these categories of powerlessness, some will resort to terrorism.
Some Americans used it during the Civil War and its aftermath. People in Ireland have used it, and in every other country going way back in world history.
Or were you referring specifically to Arab, Muslim, terrorists, who are ALSO not just one team?

7. and apart from one highly coordinated "attack" on 9-11-2001 |
|
what terrorist attacks have taken place on american soil? and when you consider the VAST number of 'soft' prime terrorist targets in the u.s.- it sure doesn't seem like much of a "war"- at least not as far as the terra-ists are concerned.

4. Apologize to the world |
|
in front of the UN general assembly....pull all our troops home that aren't actively "providing for the common defense"...work on a real defense policy WITH Canada and Mexico, instead of treating them both as sources for illegal immigrants....stop buying foreign oil at once and FORCE the public to conserve....Fully fund our obligations to NGOs so they can really do the work they were designed to do....impose an immediate 'windfall tax' on any business making obscene profits, and funnel that into paying the deficit back down....fund and develop stem-cell research (the new oil, IMHO)...kick every godammn religious wingnut out of any position of power and influence, all the way down to dogcatcher, if necessary...restore the "fairness doctrine" so hatemongers like Rush and Michael Savage will have to shut the hell up....
I'll think of some more. Gimme a minute.

8. we need to work with the UN more and reduce the Pentagon |
|
There is a one world Government and it is the UN. The terrorist threat is overblown IMO. It is also empowered by the United States INTERFERING in everyones business. Put some control on the Pentagon and the CIA. Work with the UN to gain world peace.
Get OFF oil as an energy source. Try and get America energy independent on renewable resources so we do not have to have wars for oil or energy anymore.
Europe has found a way to stop fighting each other. If the Germans and the French can be allies, why cant the rest of the world?

If we want their numbers to decrease, we must drain the swamps of poverty and ignorance. Let our armies do public works and infrastructure. Put the vast monies to productive, rather than destructive work.
