We need another Ad Council ad campaign like the "Keep America Beautiful" ad campaign from 1961 - 1983 (
http://www.adcouncil.org/campaigns/historic_campaigns_pollution/ )
Only this time, it should be called "Restore America's Dignity" and instead of a crying Native American (Iron Eyes Cody, who actually wasn't a Native American but was accepted by the Native Americans as one due to his contributions:
http://www.snopes.com/movies/actors/ironeyes.htm ), we need a crying Uncle Sam.
Uncle Sam can be walking through Washington D.C. going about his business, but as he walks through the streets, he sees headlines from news papers:
- "Bush Administration Lied to Take U.S. to War with Iraq"
- "Bush Administration Authorized Use of Torture (including against children)"
- "Bush Administration Spying on Americans"
- "Bush Administration Claims Unbridled Executive Powers"
- "GOP Controlled Congress Fails to Perform Constitutional Checks/Balances"
- "GOP Members of Congress Took Bribes"
- "GOP Congressional Leaders Used Bribe Money to Control Members"
- "Bush said no Congressional Approval needed to attack Iran"
- "Supreme Court Rules Bush Can Be King"
At the end of the Ad, Uncle Sam stands on K-Street watching Lobbyists hand out money to Congressmen with Bush's motorcade driving down the street and Bush wearing a Crown. A tear rolls down Uncle Sam's face and the voice over says:
"Some People have a deep abiding respect for the dignity once held by this country, and some people don't. People start fascism, people can stop it."
