Okla. Univ. College Republicans sadly are too stupid to be in college

Not from The Onion: "Global Warming Beach Parties"

They say that college humor is dead, but apparently not at Oklahoma University, where the kids are having too much fun to even notice the occasional al-Qaeda member in their midst down in Norman, Okla. The picture at left shows some College Republicans there mixing it up at an event called "Global Cooling Day":

Freeze out environmentalist scare tactics with a little humor. The Oklahoma University College Republicans gave out free snow cones to students for an event they called "Global Cooling Day."

Stage an event like this one to grab the attention of your campus and raise awareness on the falsities of the global warming phenomenon. Engage with students and debunk some of the myths and cool the hyperbole surrounding the issue.

OU CRs simultaneously used the event to promote their first meeting, sign-up members, and sell CR shirts. A tent and tables were set up at the busiest spot on campus, and OU CRs gave away nearly 1,000 snow cones each day.

Get free food, poo-pooh a pending environmental catastrophe, and maybe meet chicks in the process! A great idea -- so good that the National College Republican Committee (the good folks who gave the world Karl Rove and Jack Abramoff) want to take it even further. They write: Consider staging a similar event on your campus--but make it a beach party instead. Kiddie pools, sand, bikinis--you get the idea.

isn't it embarrassing to Okla. Univ. to have their students be so misinformed?

1. College Republicans always try to be "funny", but its just sad
and quite pathetic.

What do they do at their meetings? Circle jerk to a picture of Bush, then tell "war stories" from the "front lines" of "protests" they went to?

12. Back when I was a CR, we split into factions and schemed for
power within the organization, engaged in a hate-fest against our political enemies (this was, btw, before the entire Republican Party went to one long orgy of hate -- the grown-ups were still sane and rational beings and it was possible to find liberals within the party), and came up with ideas like the global cooling day and worse (i.e., dirty tricks) to advance the Republican Party. Oh yes -- we also studied how to organizr and campaign in a professional manner.

A large portion -- I believe the main portion -- of how screwed up the Republican Party has become comes from CRs who never grew up. The Republican Party today is a combination of middle-aged adolescents and get-along-go-along milquetoasts.

2. There's always been something very strange about everyone I ever
met from Oklahoma. And on the couple of trips I went on that entailed any time spent there, I was very very uncomfortable.

But hey, most Nebraskans aren't any better.

4. I originated the first Utility Dog Tour. in Okla. City and was surprised

by how different beef tasted in Okla. vs. Maryland.

all the people from the Okla. City Dog Obedience Club where nice as pie to me and did a bang up job of putting on the Tourn. but then, they were dog lovers :)

10. Everyone?
Perhaps you did not have opportunity to meet any of the enlightened dems here in (J)Oklahoma. There are actually some liberals who live here believe it or not. Some of us have not yet had an opportunity to make our escape. Others have obligations that require our continuing presence in red state hell - at least for the time being.

And there are actually a few of us that simply cannot stand the Sooner moniker - and the slimy little slice of state history it memoralizes. Here's wishing those Cornhuskers lots of luck....

5. More Democrats than Republicans
Those Democrats are just very conservative.

Although I don't agree with Oklahoma politics much, I'm still proud to say that I'm from Oklahoma and I wouldn't change it for anything.

evolution, don't they?
