Do you think it would be possible to organize a "No MSM Day"? |
|
One day where we don't listen to MSM media, no newsstand sales of papers, no CNN, no MSNBC, No ABC, CBS, NBC.
Just one day as a general protest to acknowledge the fact that they do NOT report the news, they are the bought and paid for shills of the Republicans and that they shamefully spread ignorance, both through their actions and their in-actions. Sometimes, they also seem to actively encourage the hate speech of the Ann Coulters and David Horowitzes of the world.
It becomes easier and easier to do this anyway. It seems increasingly pointless to watch Meet the Press, Hardball, etc. When I read the New York Times now, all I can think about is their mis-reporting and the major stories they held back or did not report on until it was too late to make a difference. I pick up the Washington Post and I think about how the only coverage they gave to the Conyers hearings was to assign Dana Milbank to ridicule it.
I would pick a date that had some kind of relevance. Or, it would be great to do it in a sweeps period. Pointless exercise or meaningful demonstration?

1. You will never get me to participate as long as Olbermann's on. |
|
You know, the one who's NOT a bought and paid for shill for the Republicans. The one who spreads truth and denounces hate speech, often in the funniest ways, sometimes with righteous anger.
Maybe your problem is that you're watching the wrong shows.
I would only participate in No MSM Day if it took place on a Saturday. Which is usually a No MSM Day for me personally, anyway.

2. I love him too. But he's only 1 voice in a network that stacks the deck |

otherwise. I watch MANY shows and I can't believe how horrible the vast majority are. I really don't know if this is a viable idea or not - I just wish we could somehow harness the anger and frustration that most of us feel towards the SCLM ( which is a farce - Ann Coulter is captured on video admitting " We have the media").
We are in the minority in the media, even though we are at parity or above in the population. I want them to experience our disgust.
