The war crime they've been waiting for?
No one yet knows what happened in Haditha, Iraq, last November. There are accounts - unconfirmed - of a massacre perpetrated by a unit of enraged Marines against unarmed civilians. Unless I miss my guess, this is about to become the biggest story in the world.

Consider that Abu Ghraib, which did not involve killing or torture (though it did include extreme humiliation) became the American and world press's favorite topic for weeks on end, though far more grotesque acts were being perpetrated daily by the jihadists in Iraq and elsewhere. In the period since then, the American press has focused almost exclusively on stories from Iraq that depict the situation as hopeless and the role of Americans as counterproductive.

Even before we know anything with certainty about Haditha, the Chattanooga Times Free Press has let fly with this bit of instant sociology:

"If the vicious sectarian strife that is ripping Iraq apart holds no apparent end and is now sufficient to prompt a spree of unprovoked killings of innocents by American troops, Americans reasonably may wonder whether, as some generals already believe, this nation is now doing more harm than good by remaining in Iraq."

Rep. Jack Murtha, D-Pa., every liberal's favorite ex-Marine since the day he advised pulling out of Iraq, called a press conference to accuse the Marines of murder. "here was no firefight, there was no IED that killed these innocent people. Our troops overreacted because of the pressure on them, and killed innocent civilians in cold blood."

1. "Consider that Abu Ghraib, which did not involve killing or torture..."
Dear lord, these delusional assholes are still claiming
that Abu Ghraib never happened?

Backwash in action is just disturbing to behold.
Sometimes it's scary to realize that these folks
who have such a HATRED of objective reality are
allowed to walk the same streets as the sane.

9. Do it all the time...cooking fish....on the beach....come, we go fish
In Hawaii, we got small kind, med kind, and big kine....even whales...but we don't eat those.

Red Goat Fish, Kumu, is excellent steamed...in the Ch Restuarants expect to pay $30,00 per lb when ordering

Pacific Threadfin, Moi, has been farmed and now sells for $8.00 plus per lb. Wild aught is best but rare...gets up to 17 lbs.

Travelly, papio, goes from the smaller ones 6 lbs up to the big guys 100 plus lbs...very good for sashimi...fishmen die to bag a 100 pounder...literally...many from falling into the waters from rocky shores when engaged in landing the buggers...

But the big ones are caught off shore: Marlin up to 1,500 lbs plus....ranks as a prize many strive for...and makes good smoked meat.

Come, we go golf, mo easy...

3. Hmmm, 'instant sociology' is it?...How about this...
'instant buried-head-in-pile-of-shit-stupiditiology' (the author of the crap piece, that is). These idiots wouldn't know a sociologist if he/she bit them in the ass.

6. my response
Mona Charon is exhibiting her delusional writing skill for all to see once again.

If anything is true, it's that people like Ms Mona are responsible for Abu Ghraib and Haditha -- the conservative lunacy is coming home to roost.

Conservative hyperbole about Saddam and Al Queda being in cahoots, that we were threatened by a two bit dictatorship that we had bombed into a pulp for ten years, fight them over there so we don't have to fight them over here -- the Hair On Fire phrases we are all too familiar with

And guess what Ms Mona? You and your fellow conservative american mouthpieces were lying.

And you all knew it too.

You set everyone elses hair on fire and now you don't like the result.

So like any whining, cry baby conservative mouthpiece worth her salt -- you pour your vile vitriol on liberals -- oh they're still lies.

But no conservative can take responsibility for her/his actions aparently -- so when all else -- and Iraq -- fails, blame liberals.

Well Ms Mona -- I'm here to blame you.
That's right Ms Mona -- you helped kill those innocents in Haditha.

You helped to set America on fire with you lunatic rhetoric -- you helped put a rage in the brain of our young soldiers with your foaming at the mouth lunacy.

And now you have Haditha -- and Ms Mona -- it's all yours.

11. Sorry, I can't offer much of an intelligent response as I am still in
shock that the Chattanooga Times/Free Press was mentioned as it is a predominantly rightwing rag, which is what I tell everyone they send around door to door asking me to subscribe!:wow:

Off to try to compose myself now.
