Another Dog Attack!!!
Pack of Angry Chihuahuas Attack Officer

FREMONT, California - A pack of angry Chihuahuas attacked a police officer who was escorting a teenager home following a traffic stop, authorities said.

The officer suffered minor injuries including bites to his ankle on Thursday when the five Chihuahuas escaped the 17-year-old boy's home and rushed the officer in the doorway, said Fremont detective Bill Veteran.

The teenager had been detained after the traffic incident, Veteran said.

The officer was treated at a local hospital and returned to work less than two hours later, Veteran said.

2. Chihuahuas can attack, but doubt they could kill...
their mouths are too small! I used to date a delivery guy, and he said it was those little ones that bit them most often... they're so fast that the owner can't catch them as they bolt out the door. He had some scary moments with German Shepherds and a few Dobermans, as well. The diff with the pit bulls and the other dogs, is that pits are bred to kill their victims, and have the jaws to do it.

"refuse to take them to the maul" The "maul"? Or was that intentionally funny?

12. Chi Chi's really aren't bad. I swear! They are VERY loyal though and
if someone came after me in my house (on their turf), they would ATTEMPT to go after them. Since they weigh about 5 lbs. each, they couldn't do much damage. When we go out, they are wonderful. Kids come up and pick them up and play with them. If I were to pick the best dogs I've ever had, it would be my Chi's.

14. What is going on in Fremont, CA?

FREMONT, Calif. -- A woman in California called police to report that an intruder broke into her home and added pornography to her computer.

The woman in Fremont said she woke up and was startled to see a stranger typing away on her computer.

Police said the intruder fled, but left behind an altered screen saver that featured erotic images.

Nothing was reported stolen. Neither the woman nor her 9-year-old daughter were hurt.

21. Next thing you will see is that Chihuahuas have been
added to the list of dangerous dogs along with Rottweilers (I have one and she is a wimp), pit bull terriers, Dobermans, Chows, etc. And your homeowners' insurance will go up because you have one of those dangerous little dogs.

23. I've actually never met a mean Rott. I believe it has a lot more to do
with owners than the breed. I know sometimes it doesn't look that way when you hear so many stories about pits, but I bet if you did some research you would learn a lot more about how those dogs were raised.

a policeman shooting one of these barking rats a few years ago? I believe the dog was attacking him so he let him have it right between the eyes (for real).

32. I don't remember that, but if true, that cop was a major wimp. There were
many other options with a dog that weighs around 5 lbs give or take a lb. My dog's mouth barely fits around my finger. It's not like he could do much damage even if he did bite, but he doesn't.

A lot of the reason why you see these little dogs acting "macho" is because that is a defense mechanism. They are so small that they have to act tough around larger breeds so they aren't always attacked.

26. That's real.
The only purebred pits I've ever known were quiet and gentle; and devoted to their families, without a single infraction during their lifetimes.

I had a pit/whippet mix. A pound puppy. She was as sweet and submissive as you'll find in a dog anywhere. Energetic? Yes. Nervous? Yes. She left a puddle everytime she got excited, which was off and on all day long. Athletic? Yes. We had people who used to love to drive out to our rural place just to race her up and down the road; her on the inside of the fence, them on the outside. The longest fence was about 600 feet; she was never beaten by a car, truck, motorcycle, dirtbike, or ATV. She loved to run so much that I taught her to chase a flashlight beam. The lazy person's way to keep her exercised. I'd sit on the porch and point the light at a tree 300 feet away. She'd race off and "tag" the spot of light. I'd move the light to a tree right by the porch. Repeat, repeat, repeat. While she never exhibited a single moment of aggression during her life, she was insistent about bringing me the flashlight.

29. Thank you for saying that.
My Rotties were always well-behaved, around children and adults. Never gave me a moment's trouble. Here's a pic of the first one I had. After all these years, I still miss him so much. Yes, he's actually wearing the hat. :)

33. The only mean dogs I have ever met were German Shepards and I think it had
to do more with the owner. I don't think he trained them to be mean, but he didn't discipline them and let them run wild over several acres. They became like pack dogs (5 of them). They killed several dogs in the neighborhood by pulling them through or under the fence. They would literally almost tear the dogs from limb to limb through a fence. They killed 2 of my dogs. They eventually got very old and died off one by one. They actually killed one of their own after he got older and sick. I saw the others attacking him one day and tried to jump the fence to save him, but it was too late. I hated them for killing my dogs, but I still would have tried to help the older one. I never saw them be aggressive to a human though, but they were horrible to other dogs. I blame the owner for not keeping them contained in a proper manner. I certainly don't hold my experience with those Sheps against all of the breed though.

I've known several rotts and a couple of pits and they were all very nice, big babies.
