I saw that moron Laura Ingraham on O'Reilly last night
Edited on Wed Jun-07-06 03:45 PM by CatWoman
and the stupid cow is still at it and won't shut her filthy mouth. Thanks to Harry Shearer for writing this:

It was just last night that conservative talk-radio host Laura Ingraham was on the O'Reilly show reiterating her complaint that the American public has been turned against the Iraq war by reporting that doesn't get out of the Green Zone, reporting that stands on hotel balconies describing IED's, reporting that doesn't get out to bases in-country and "talk to the troops".

Do you think if more of the troops' stories were told, more Americans would believe that actually what's happening there is good? I actually think they would, Bill."

Ingraham's problem goes higher up than she thinks. Here, hidden in the usually inside-the-beltway light lifting of Al Kamen's "In the Loop" column in the WashPost, are excerpts of a cable sent by US Iraq Ambassador Zalmay Khalalizad to Condi Rice in early May. It makes media reports, by comparison, sound positively Pollyanna-ish. Maybe Laura should cable Zalmay to get out of whatever zone he's in....

News Orgs Struggling To Find Fresh Reporters For Iraq

Over Memorial Day weekend, New York Times metro reporter Paul von Zielbauer called his mother to tell her about his new assignment: Next month, he’ll be going to the Baghdad bureau.

“She freaked out and she hung up,” Mr. von Zielbauer said, “and turned on the TV and saw what happened to the CBS News crew.”

The bombing that hit the CBS team—killing cameraman Paul Douglas and soundman James Brolan, and leaving correspondent Kimberly Dozier in critical condition—made Iraq the deadliest modern war for journalists, by the tally of the Committee to Protect Journalists. When The Times posted job openings in Baghdad in March, only five applicants came forward.
<snip>
“It’s a complete volunteer army,” Times foreign editor Susan Chira said of the Baghdad recruiting effort. “What we make clear is that this story is the most dangerous and challenging and stressful assignment in the world.”

2. I say give laura a camera and let her roam all over the countryside
in Iraq filming her good news stories. She should do it without any body armor, without troop protection. Just her and rental car touring around. We could take up a collection on DU to pay for the rental car fee in case that's what's holding her back.

3. Has Laura volunteered to replace Kimberly Dozier?
Until she does, she should STFU.

4. Ask Laura why Voice of America isn't reporting
the "good news" out of Baghdad.
They don't have a reporter there.
Know why?
It's too dangerous.
But, hey, Laura and Bill get jump a plane and go over there to report the good news.
And forget the green zone. Go to the hot spots with the troops and ride in a convoy.
report back.

6. Give her a gun and uniform and turn her loose over there.
If she's so damn brave, let her put her money where her filthy mouth is and head into the streets of Baghdad.

When she was over there she got the mandatory RW feel-good shill tour with a heavily armed group of soldiers. Too bad thay didn't leave her to walk back to the Green Zone.

"Shut up and or put up", you stupid freak.

13. Very nasally sounding voice. Could easily have played the witch in "Oz"
or maybe she did now that I think of it.............

She cackles when she laughs, too.

9. Funny thing is that almost none of these 'good news' propagandists ...
... have gotten even as close as the media. If ignorance is proportional to the distance from the action, it can only be greater for fecal-brained facists like Ingraham.

12. More reporters have already DIED in Iraq than in all of WWII....
...and Laura is a shameless, lying whore with about as
much moral compunction as an insect.
