Pat Robertson Insists He Really Leg-Pressed 2,000 Pounds

POSTED: 6:54 pm EDT June 7, 2006

NORFOLK, Va. -- He doesn't look like Arnold Schwarzenegger. But Pat Robertson insists he really managed to leg-press a ton when he was nearly 73 and suffering prostate cancer.

The man behind TV's Christian Broadcasting Network tells The Associated Press he did it one time after building up to it for about three years.

Robertson spoke following the release of a picture which his spokeswoman said shows him leg-pressing 2,000 pounds.

That's got sports experts scratching their heads, considering the leg-press record for football players at Florida State University comes in at 665 pounds less.

3. They showed the video.
I think it was on Countdown. Technically he cheated because he pushed on his knees with his hands, It would still have been quite a feat. I would like to have the actual weights shown in the video certified. I just don't trust ol' Pat.

10. What Leg Press Machine Allows For 2000 Lbs?
I've sure never seen one that could accomodate that much weight.

He's so full of shit on this one.

A friend of mine is a powerlifter and he says the powerlifter forums he visits are all laughing their asses off at Robertson.

Of course he also says that powerlifters don't think much of leg presses in the first place, but that there was no way he did what he claims.

1. Leg press 100 pounds.

2. Repeat 19 times.
