I would have not known who Coulter, Holmes, O'Reilly et al were if I had not started coming to blogs like DU.

I have still not watched any of their shows. I don't give a flying fuck what they say. It seems to me that they crave attention, and I'm at a loss to understand why we feel the need to so satisfy them.

I don't care what he thinks. If I did, I suppose I could watch his show, but of course, then I would be driving up his ratings and helping him stay on the air.

He went to Marist College in the Poughkeepsie, NY area, and I had some friends who went there at the same time he did.

They did say he was an asshole when they knew him, but I never spent any of my time finding out if they were right.

2. I personally don't watch them because I am not the type of person

who can hear that and not have a soaring blood pressure. For Mr. kt, who grew up hearing that spew from his reich-wing, fundy fruitcake family, it has a deep emotional sting.

However, I do applaud those who can handle it. We need to keep tabs on what they are up to. Sometimes it seems like it can be a bit much with so many threads on these people, but at the same time, one must know their enemy.

I empathize with you, though, and I understand exactly what you are saying. :)

9. I haven't watched any of them either--my accountant told me that it was

getting WAY too expensive replacing tv sets after I had thrown heavy objects at them when some rw jerk was spewing. it is important, however, to see what those loons are up to, and I am thankful for the people here on DU who have the fortitude to listen to that filth, and even more for the ones who brave FR. I certainly cannot do it.

Someone has to show the fools who actually do watch them that the emperors have no clothes. Some of them will never listen--they're too deluded--but they just might wake other people up.

I keep thinking of that moment in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom when Indiana has been forced to drink something that turns him into a zombielike follower of an evil god. Short Round has to actually put a torch to him to shock him out of his zombielike state and bring him back to his senses. That's sort of what it's like. It's not guaranteed that people might actually catch and get any of these messages and finally turn away from these losers, but one never knows.

their jabs now go beyond anything I have ever seen. I guess it was once like this in the 1930's with Hitler's speeches and Joe McCarthy in the 1950's. All pretense of civilized human discourse is now gone. It is appalling and amazing.

I'd never even know this filth existed if I didn't read it here or hear clips on Stephanie Miller & The Daily Show. I can deal with the short make fun of clips in the liberal radio/TV arena - but acknowledging their ideas as worthy of discussion on a political board is just too much for me.
